General Information & Sale Notes LOCATION: The sale will be held in the Borderway Mart, Carlisle Cumbria. Motorists should leave the M6 at Junction 43 and follow CARLISLE signs. The Market is on the left hand side of the road within 1/4 mile of M6. VIEWING - The Sale Sheep will be available for viewing at Borderway Mart, Carlisle on the morning of the Sale. Prior viewing of the sheep is most welcome, please contact vendors direct. HOTELS - There are many hotels within the area, ranging from four star to excellent Bed and Breakfast accommodation, a list of which may be found in the catalogue. CONDITIONS OF SALE - The Pedigree and Description of each lots and all information as to service sire dates and health are believed to be correct. Sold under the conditions of sale as displayed in the market, recommended by the Livestock Auctioneer’s Committee for England and Wales. METHOD OF SALE - All sheep will be sold in guineas (105 pence) and strictly in catalogue order, unless any alteration is announced by the Auctioneers. COMMISSIONS - The Auctioneers will dutifully execute commissions to purchase for buyers unable to attend the sale personally, upon receipt of written instructions. SETTLEMENT AND CLEARANCE OF STOCK - Settlement in full is due immediately at the close of Sale. CATALOGUE RUGLEY FLOCK E.A.& L.JACKSON The Rugley Suffolk Flock was established in 1976 and we began weight recording with MLC in 1977. Shearling rams have been sold at Kelso Ram Sales for the past 40 years. The aim has always been to produce fast growing sheep with good carcasses using Recording as a tool to help measure this. Particular emphasis has been placed on breeding sheep with good Gigots. We have been making good use of the C.T scanning facility at Edinburgh for several years and it is now giving a measurement of Gigot size. At one stage our flock had more than half of the top 1% of Suffolks for Muscularity score. Alan and Lorna are retiring and Lucy has taken the Tenancy at Rugley, she has retained 12 ewes. Most of the ewes and last years gimmers were sold in 2019 and we now present the final consignment. We would like to thank you for your support and hope the sheep you purchase today are successful in your Flocks. FLOCK HEALTH: MV Accredited - last tested 2019. Gimmers vaccinated with Cevac and Toxovac. All sheep have been injected with Bravoxin 10 and Ovipast. All sheep will be injected with Cydectin 2% prior to sale. One of the best sheep ever bred at Rugley and is still fit and active at nearly 7 years old. He has been used little in 2019 as most of the Flock is related to him. He has performed well both at Rugley and in other flocks, consistently producing the flocks best Shearlings for Kelso Sale over several years. Terrific was bred from Strathisla Cappi who also performed well in the flock for many years, producing sheep with good Gigots.
