Panda Holsteins take great pride in its high health-status. Cattle are housed all-year round and the herd is under an annual TB testing regime. Panda Holsteins does routine bloods annually on all cattle on farm, testing for IBR, BVD, Lepto, Neospora and all milking animals are tested for Johnes disease.
There has NEVER been a case of any of the above diseases on farm here at Panda. All cattle are vaccinated against Ringworm and have been vaccinated on the 19th of February 2025 for Botava (for protection against Bluetongue).
SALE ANIMALS:
All animals in the sale will be pre-movement TB tested under 30 days & blood tested for IBR/BVD (test date 3/6/2025) to allow animals to travel directly to Scotland after the sale. Depending on the Bluetongue requirements, Panda Holsteins has in place to blood test all animals prior to the sale date to allow animals to be moved anywhere within the UK immediately after the sale.
CALVES UNDER 3 MONTHS:
Panda Holsteins are happy to house any calf purchased in the sale free of charge until it is safely weaned.

No Lots can leave Ravenscroft Hall Farm without a ‘Pass Slip’ being issued by the sales office. Please note that all lots must be settled on the day of purchase and prior to clearance of any stock.

PATHWAY TO PANDA
The Pathway of Panda is such a fitting name for this amazing sale. It’s an event that celebrates the passion, skill, knowledge and determination of Molly Westwood as well as her incredible enthusiasm for the Holstein breed.
My first conversation with Molly was back in 2012 when she called me about two special show heifers that she was considering selling on choice in the upcoming Black & White Sale. I met Molly a few weeks later at the National Calf Show were these two heifers, full sisters PANDA ALEXA FOOLS GOLD and PANDA ALLYANDER FOOLS GOLD were competing in the show.
PANDA ALEXA FOOLS GOLD was named Champion Calf and her full sister placed second in the December Calf class. She went on to sell in the Black & White sale that year selling for 6,000gns to the Belle Holstein herd in Cumbria and this prolific line of the Fools Gold family continues to be successful in Cumbria in the Woodcatt and Petteril herds.
The Panda Holstein herd has quickly developed since then into a world recognised brand renowned for breeding the best Red & White Holstein cattle. As well as the Fools Gold line other legendary cow families have been added to the Panda herd that all feature in this incredible catalogue.
Every pedigree in this SPECIAL sale features either an All American, World Dairy Expo Champion, Royal Winter Fair Champion, Swiss Expo Champion, European Champion, All Britain or National Champion and all have an incredible ability to transmit. I have never been able to say this about any other catalogue before.

Ten years ago, Panda Holsteins came into operation as a father and daughter partnership. We had big dreams to develop the best Holstein genetics in the world to form a future nucleus herd attractable to breeders across the globe, and we hope you see this within our sale line-up.
Our journey started by investing in five embryos and developing the resulting females, reinvesting profits into a new pedigree. Every cow family we have invested in has been carefully selected and researched beforehand to be sure we are adding something unique to our portfolio of females. Whilst building our breeding females we have never been afraid to sell our best. Having sold cattle and embryos in more than 23 countries, we feel truly grateful to our customers and partners around the globe, and we take great pleasure looking on to see Panda females having success with their new owners.
OUR BREEDING STRATEGY
Here a Panda we appreciate that we have smaller numbers, but we have always maximised each individual’s full potential through strategic planning and breeding decisions. We have never bred for fashion – that’s a trend that comes and goes. We have instead bred for true balanced type, high mammary scores, and correct rumps whilst correctively mating each female. Brood cows which have power throughout, with great udders – built to last – are the kind of cows we aim for. We hope you can see this trend in some of the more mature lots we have to offer.

All-Time World Champion represents the peak of every mountain
In January 2015 Molly spotted a heifer that had been consigned to a German sale for the following month.
“When I did a little detective work on her pedigree, I found out that she was a red carrier Goldwyn granddaughter of Decrusaz Iron O’Kalibra EX97,” Molly said.
“I couldn’t forget about her, and I immediately contacted her breeder (Cord Horman, Wilcor Holsteins) asking what else he had from the family.”
Turns out, her dam was going to be shown later the following month in Germany at the same venue where the sale was being held.
DESTINY SPEAKS
In what seemed an ironic twist, Molly travelled to Germany for a work trip to Shau Der Besten – one of Germany’s most competitive shows –hosted and organised by Masterrind. Her job was to look at progeny groups two days before the show and sale.
“But there was only one thing I was thinking about. I wanted to see the dam and daughter descendants of O’Kalibra. When we finally got to the show, I went straight to the Red Carrier Goldwyn and, oh my, she was super pretty!
“I then went over to her dam (who was tied in with the rest of her show string), and she oozed so much balance that it gave me that ‘tingly feeling’ you can’t escape when you see a great one.
“I knew – one way or another – I was going to start my investment in this incredible family. Two hours later the sale started I had a business partner who was keen to go shares in this Goldwyn, which gave us a bigger budget. It wasn’t enough that day because the Goldwyn fetched more than 35,000 Euros. She was out of my league.
“So, after the sale ended, I reconnected with Cord and arranged to buy some embryos from the Goldwyn’s dam, sired by Awesome Red.”
Decrusaz Iron O’Kalibra EX97
O’Kalibra was the first Swiss cow to score EX-97. When the three-time Swiss Expo’s Supreme Champion was crowned Holstein International’s All-Time World Champion in 2021 – beating several profile North American cows at the time – she took her place as a breed icon.
MAKING DESTINY DELIVER
Later that summer four embryos made their way to the UK. Panda implanted two straight away. They saved two for a later implant because the weather was still warm and they wanted to spread the risk, given of the amount of Molly’s investment.
The first two embryos held, and five months later one of the remaining two also held. They were poised to land the FIRST O’Kalibras in the UK.
“I was so excited, I actually turned down an opportunity to help the UK team in Colmar (at the European Championships) because I wanted to make sure these calves were born safely,” Molly said.
That June two “beautiful” Red carriers were born.
“I was a little sad I hadn’t got a red one, but they were super pretty,” Molly said.
FIRST RED O’KALIBRA
The final pregnancy, which was born that November proved to be worth the wait. The very first RED O’Kalibra was on the ground in the UK.
“My grandpa used to come over on Fridays, and he was very excited about this calf because we had been talking so much about the final pregnancy in anticipation. He helped me name her, Autumn.”
That December, Molly made the tough marketing call for any big investment close to one’s heart. She decided to sell the choice of the two red carriers.
“I remember we had so many visitors in the run-up to the sale come to see these calves, I actually padlocked their gates every night three weeks out from the sale.
“I had a sleepless week making sure the calves were safe, healthy and ready to hopefully bring a decent return on my original investment.”
Aged six months, the choice topped the B&W Sale, selling for 18,000gns. Panda sold the sister on the way home to another breeder based in Wales.
“So, we pulled into the farm with an empty trailer, a decent pay cheque and (in my opinion), an even more exciting younger red sister in the barn.”
EVERY EGG IN ONE BASKET
She remembers that Autumn always had a “stamp about her”. She was a powerful calf and, as she developed, they decided not to flush her as a maiden heifer – to be patient – and to get her in-calf.
A month before she calved, it was clear Autumn was going to shine.
“Her frame was so open, her pins were so wide, and she could easily be described as a tank even at that young age,” Molly said.
She calved in safely and her udder showed great promise. Molly didn’t hesitate to enter her for the UK Dairy Expo the following month.
DECISIONS, DECISIONS…
But she would have to make another decision first. Autumn was classified VG88-2Yr when she was “a handful of weeks fresh”, and that very evening Molly got a phone call from well-known breeder, Rob Kirk (Leedham Holsteins). He asked if Autumn was for sale.
“I wasn’t prepared to sell all of her, because she was the very last one of the line we had. So, I offered him a half share,” Molly explained.
“We agreed a price, and a few weeks later she went to the Expo, and was first R&W 2Yr Old and Best Udder.

“I was so proud of her, and of myself for having achieved a dream of winning at the UK’s largest show with a milking animal.”
ROI ASSURED
Molly says Rob has been an incredible partner. They then flushed her to Amaretto-Red for four eggs each for Panda and Leedham. They then got her in-calf again.
“Autumn has just got better and better with every single calving, and she is now classified EX95 (3 weeks in on her 5th lactation),” Molly said.
“We feel there may be even more scope for her to gain a point or two more in the future.”

GLORY - GLORY FOR A CENTURY
If you’re looking for generations of pure excellence, this family traces back to close to a century of breeding.
“When I first spotted a very fresh two-year-old on Facebook one evening, she might have caught my eye on the first pass because she was red, or because there was a pretty barn in the background,” Molly said.
“But when I stopped and looked her up, I was fascinated. Not many pedigrees extend for more than 20 generations – let alone 19 of them being Excellent dams. GOLDEN-ROSE LADD GLORY RED wasn’t scored at that time, but I could see she was exciting.”
Molly was on a mission from that point. She spoke with Glory’s breeder, and he agreed to flush her.
It was not quite as simple as it appeared on paper, because only one pregnancy stuck from the small number of eggs that arrived. However, it represented potentially the first calf from this family to land in Europe.
TWISTED UTERUS TWISTS THE STORY
The challenges to achieve this weren’t quite over yet. The recipient was due close to New Year’s Eve, but when she presented with a twisted uterus things got hectic.
“It was going to take a miracle to get this calf out alive,” Molly said. “After the vet had tried for over an hour, the decision was made to do a c-section. At this point the recipient had already been calving a good few hours, and none of us were sure if the calf was still alive.
“It was around 2am when we started the operation and the whole family were out helping. I had scrubbed in the help the vet, my sister, Jess, and Mum had the towels ready, and Dad stayed at the front end of the recipient to keep her calm.
“At first, we reached in, and both grabbed a back leg each – oh boy, they were long. It took all our might to lift and pull this calf out. Amazingly…she had a heartbeat.
“Mum and Jess worked on the calf and managed to get her to cough and take her first breaths, and it was Mum who came up with her name.

EX92 HALLELUJAH SELLS
Molly said it has been an incredible journey watching Hallelujah grow and develop into an incredible young heifer.
Covid-19 meant no-one got to see her that show season, so Panda put that frustration aside, and focused on her breeding plan. They successfully flushed her once to Mirand PP, and then put her in-calf to Willows Red P. She calved in the following summer, classified VG872Yr and placed 2nd Sr R&W 2Yr Old at the National UK Dairy Day.
Panda’s “miracle cow” Hallelujah [or Glory as she’s affectionately known at Panda] sells carrying that EX92-point classification – along with her special Ambrose daughter and Red & Polled Blondin Alpha granddaughter – who could be the first 23rd generation VG/EX.

Panda’s respect for the Rita family meant it was on its watch-list, because it was threatening to break a new record of straight Excellents.
Homework and research into pedigrees is Molly’s guilty pleasure, and after a little digging she found her potential pot of gold. ROSE BARBRITZI RED – a stunning Barbwire – had just completed 20 generations of straight Excellent. And, she was being marketed as part of a herd dispersal for the Golden-Rose herd in the US – along with the two-month-old Jordy Red daughter, RED.
RISK ON RITA VALIDATED
Rita freshened in the US, and Panda was excited to see how unbelievable she looked with extreme veination on her udder. “Despite being housed in a smaller setup, she was able to head out to a couple of county shows against some of North America’s finest, winning both her 2Yr Old classes and ending her 2Yr Old year scoring VG89-MAX,” Molly said.
“I loved the cross of Jordy x Barbwire x Absolute, it was a corrective mating through and through, and with 20 Excellents, if I was to make a gamble at the time this was the calf I had eyes on,” Molly said.

“Yes, she was just a baby, and yes, a lot could go wrong with such a young calf, but sometimes you have to make a gamble, and take the leap if you want to stand out.”
In August 2023, Rita made Holstein history, becoming the first cow in the world to complete 21 generations straight excellent.
“We are extremely proud of this achievement and we have had great success with Rita’s first offspring here in the UK,” Molly said.
A few weeks later, GOLDEN-ROSE J RITA RED inventory – owned with a US partner. She was flushed twice as a maiden heifer – once for the partner and once for Panda.
Rita made history in August 2023, becoming the first cow in the world to complete 21 generations of straight Excellent Dams.
She is housed in the US and we are delighted to offer the first daughters and granddaughters from Rita in the UK & Europe.
“I chose Army as the mating sire, because I considered him to be a great bull with moderate stature from the heart of the Apple cow family,” Molly said. “I was excited this cross could produce a calf that was correct without being too extreme in the hope to breed further generations of excellence.
“Her first two daughters drew huge interest after Rita’s classification achievement, and we showed both at the Southwest National qualifiers. They were unseparated – Rita Order placed 1st and Reserve Jr Champion – and Rihanna placed 2nd to her full sister.
Rita’s already won 2 major shows in the USA and her Army daughter Panda Rita Ora RC* is the first offspring from Rita in the UK & Europe.
“After the show we agreed to sell Rihanna privately to the renowned Shanael herd, who have continued to develop her so well. Rita Ora resides at Panda, and she is due to calve close to the sale date.”

One door softly closes…another door quietly opens…
This family story came to be because of the deep pain that comes from loving big.
In the late Autumn of 2019, Panda lost its best and first foundation cow too early. The pain still sits with Molly today. Lexy (the original Red Lexander that put Panda on the map) died after post-calving complications on her fifth lactation.
“This was our first ever loss of a cow despite our best efforts – and I mean we gave it our absolute all,” Molly said. “She was my best friend. It was gut-wrenching and my dad and I – as soft as it sounds – shed a lot of tears that day.”
A couple of weeks after Lexy had passed, the atmosphere remained flat at Panda with Lexy’s loss leaving a massive hole in the barn.
“Mum felt we need a ‘pick-me-up’ to get our heads back in the game, and she encouraged us both to go for a last-minute three-day trip to World Dairy Expo (WDE),” Molly said.
“We agreed. It was Dad’s first time to WDE and my fourth (but, my first time as a visitor, because the other three times I’d been working for Morsan). I remember wearing a pair of sunglasses, sat on the plane shedding a tear still about Lexy.”
When they arrived in Madison, Molly wisely offered to drive since she had lived in the US, and they had to navigate driving on the opposite side of the road.
“We got in late that evening (the day before the R&W Show), grabbed some supper and went to bed, ready for an early start to walk around the WDE barns first thing,” Molly said
“There’s nothing better than walking down the lines early, seeing the cows on the pack in their strings. My eye always led me to the reds, and we saw several iconic cows that year. But the one cow we both agreed on was Highcroft Absolute Lily Red EX96 (98 MS).
“She reminded us both of Lexy – not a huge cow, but she was so deep, open, hard-topped and she had so much width. Then, there was her mind-blowing udder. Despite us seeing her five or six hours before her class, we both thought that (for us) she was the cow to beat.

PROMISE FULFILLED
They grabbed the obligatory cheese toasty and milkshake and never left their seats for the rest of the day as the R&W show played out.
“Wow, it was an incredible show. Lily fulfilled our pre-show expectations – winning her aged class and carrying on winning Grand Champion of the R&W show.
“That was it. We had lost a special cow at home, but I was determined to invest in a special cow to honor our Lexy.
“I waited for the dust to settle and sent Aaron Eaton (one of her owners) a message a month later asking if we could purchase some eggs directly from Lily.
“After messages back and forth, we both agreed on a sire in Dempsey – a legendary cow to a legendary proven sire. I knew this mating wouldn’t produce a red calf, but it could produce a brood cow – and that’s what we were after.”
They landed two stunning Dempsey daughters at Panda. To have two direct daughters from Lily – the first in Europe – was an important first step to finding a new foundation cow and quietly healing from Lexy’s loss.
INVESTMENT AND WHAT COMES AFTER
With investment comes the return on investment, and coupled with Panda’s commitment to offering its best, it sold one of the Dempseys.

“We decided not to show her as a calf,” Molly said. “She wasn’t huge, and we knew this line performed when in-milk. So, we got her in-calf when the time was right, and she calved at just over 2Yrs scoring VG85-2yr at only 11 days calved.
“She showed us so much promise – developing each week. She had a beautiful udder and a deep powerful frame, and she was later raised an extra point on that lactation. She recently calved for her 2nd lactation scoring VG88.”
Meanwhile, Lily has continued to underwrite Panda’s Lily story, by scoring EX97 (99-MS), and becoming one of the most successful show cows at WDE:

Paying close attention to the young two and three-year-old classes at World Dairy Expo (WDE) has been integral to Panda Holsteins’ breeding programme.
And – for this family – that’s exactly where Molly first laid eyes on MISS POTTSDALE DFI TANG EX94, an incredible Defiant leading back to the great Tinas.
It was WDE in 2016 when Tang placed second in the Senior 2Yr Old class. While many perhaps focused on the winning entry that day, Tang had Molly’s attention from the get-go.
Today Tang embodies the modern cow from every angle, but it had to start somewhere, and it had to come from somewhere.
Tang is backed by eight generations of VG or EX (including six EX that averaged more than 92 points across the eight dams). Tang ranks as an elite Genomic Type cow – who has proven herself throughout the American show circuit. She was crowned All-American Sr3 Yr Old in 2017 (and Reserve in 2016). She has also a proven brood cow with more than 10 VG or EX classified daughters across the globe.
OPPORTUNITY KNOCKS
Molly was fascinated by Tang since that WDE, and she started following her progress. In the following summer of 2017, a high PTAT Diamondback daughter came up on Tang’s offspring list.
“I thought it was a complimentary mating with the power from Diamondback and Tang’s overall dairyness and femininity,” Molly said.
When the Diamondback – named Twilight – was three months old, she was the highest PTAT Diamondback daughter in the world.
“I loved the cross and approached the team at Golden-Oaks to see if they’d be interested in selling her,” Molly said. “Luckily for me, they had consigned her to a sale that spring. I knew this was a great opportunity for me to invest in my first animal abroad – something I always wanted to do.”
Tang went on to win the Sr3 Yr old class along with Reserve Intermediate Champion at WDE that year. Tang’s continued development was

the “icing on the cake” validation for Molly. Five months later Panda invested in Twilight.
Golden-Oaks continued to house her, and she was flushed later that summer with Unstopabull on the first mating. It yielded a group of exceptional heifers on the ground at Panda in the UK.
All five daughters went on to classify VG or EX, with the highest profile Unstopabull in the group – PANDA TANGO RED – becoming the No.1 R&W PTAT and No.1 R&W Conformation female in Europe.
When Twilight calved in at Golden-Oaks, she scored VG86-2yr (11 weeks fresh).
“I was over the moon,” Molly said. “Our very first purchase had calved and classified successfully, and she was also breeding exceptionally well.”
DESTINED TO BE BORN IN A STORM
They made two more flushes with Twilight – one to Devour and the other to Amaretto Red. As calves, they were successful in the show ring early on, and buyers snapped them up quickly.
Panda did hold one direct daughter back for themselves, PANDA DESTINED TO B RED.
“I remember the night she was born,” Molly said. “We had one of the worst storms hit the UK on record. The power was out for three days, and I slept in my office (which overlooked the calving pens), checking on the recipient every few hours by torchlight.

TANG’S HIGHEST PTAT RED DAUGHTER IN EUROPE SELLS
Paying close attention to the young two and three-year-old classes PANDA TAKE THAT RED was the result of a mating Panda chose directly from TANG herself.
She was born in November 2021, and by 2022 the writing was on the wall for her future.
“This heifer calf gave us that fuzzy feeling right from the start, and she also really did have everything on paper,” Molly said.

“Destiny”, as the family likes to call her at home, tested as one of the highest descendants from the family with exceptional mammary scores. She bore that ranking out when she calved in, scoring VG862yr. Panda says she has one of the best udders in the barn.
“She’s a powerful heifer, and we can see her making a great mature cow for the future,” Molly said. “We hope to bring her out after another lactation.”
Her dam, Twilight is now EX90 5*, validating the initial investment.

She won both the B&W aged class & R&W aged class at the National All-Breeds All-Britain Calf show. She was also crowned the All-Britain Champion R&W heifer of 2022.

“We spotted this special cow whilst at the WDE in 2019,” Molly said.

“I personally could not find a fault on this young cow. Her frame from all angles was picture perfect, she had a beautiful rump, a hard top, depth, and length throughout.
“As always, the udder always has to come first and that was the most impressive part on her. It was beautifully shaped, she had veins like a roadmap, and on show morning she was blooming.”
She was being shown by the Moede family – one of the smaller, family-run strings – and they had done an awesome job with this cow, Molly said.

After WDE, Molly couldn’t get Adeline out of her head, and she did what she always does in those situations. She burrowed into the pedigree.

“When I did the research, she was a cow who didn’t have a huge amount of offspring in North America, and nothing overseas,” Molly said. “Her pedigree is what really fired up my engines – a RED ADEEN – WOW.
“I contacted the Moede family and asked if they’d ever sell eggs from her. It took a while to get a response, but luckily for me 12 months later they had seen an article on Panda in the Cowsmopolitan magazine. It was just simply a bit of luck, but they replied saying they’d be happy to discuss things further for a potential flush.”
The two parties agreed on the sire, Devour, and the embryo deal was sealed.
JOB DONE
A year later, two stylish red Adelines and two RCs were born at Panda. As always, with its investments Panda was focused on making a return, so it sold two of the sisters that year – one to Scotland and the other to a Danish breeder. It left Panda with two daughters, Panda Angel in Red and Panda Adele.
Adele was the first to calve in. A big open-framed heifer with an incredible rump and udder- she recently scored VG87-2Yr. She will be in the sale, along with her high conformation RED CARRIED BULLSEYE daughter.
Next to calve down was Angel. During that summer Panda’s good partner, Rob Kirk, decided to invest in a half share of Panda Angel in Red.
“She was just a picture-perfect heifer and a few months later she gave us a beautiful RED HULU P: HELLS ANGELS which has tested very high on both Conformation & PTAT,” Molly said.
“This super-stylish calf has already won at the UK’s biggest dairy show, the UK Dairy Expo in March this year – topping her R&W Class. She is definitely shaping up to be a serious All-Britain contender.”
Panda confirms that Hells Angels’ dam had just classified VG85-2Yr, and that she shows tremendous promise as a young cow for the future.

Diamonds are a girl’s best friend…
“WOW WHAT A COW.”
That was Molly’s first reaction when she saw Miss Diamond for the first time in Germany being shown as a two-year-old at the Schau Der Besten.
“She shone out against anything in the string,” Molly said. “She was jet black, silky and stylish, with a beautiful udder. The day of the show with a full udder this incredible young cow was unbeatable, winning her 2yr Old class and becoming the Champion 2Yr Old of the show.”
When Molly got home, she went straight to Miss Diamond’s pedigree to see what she was potentially dealing with.
This was no diamond in the rough. Miss Diamond completed 11 generations of VG or Excellent dams, and her fifth dam was a sister to the 2000 EX97-point European Champion, Wiesenfield Raider Maryam.
DECISION MADE
With her homework done, over the next two years Molly would again see Miss Diamond fresh on successive calvings – as a three and a fouryear-old.
“She just got better and better, and my decision was made,” Molly said.
“I wanted to bring back some Diamonds to Panda. My best friend, Stefan Kallas, was actually a part-owner in Diamond so I was lucky enough to be able to make a connection, and convince the partnership to sell me some embryos.
“Devour, a red carrier High Octane son has been making some really special young cows for us at Panda, so I asked if we could use him as a mating sire.”
Twelve months later, two beautiful Miss Diamond daughters were born at Panda, sired by Devour.
Both were jet black – just like their dam – and the team at Panda was extremely excited.
PEDIGREES DON’T LIE
Panda sold one heifer privately and she became extremely successful in the showring. The remaining sister stayed with Panda, and is a personal favourite in the barn.
“Knowing her dam and maternal line was extremely successful in the show ring in milking form, we decided to calve her fresh for the summer of 2025 – in the hope that if she calved out well she’d make a great Snr 2Yr Old for the National UK Dairy Day in September,” Molly said.

Is the real deal …
Late one evening in Canada, Molly was helping Morsan Farms’ Chris Parry unload a handful of new arrivals that had been bought in PEI.
That load included a future WDE and RWF Supreme Champion – but it was a deep, dark red heifer that caught Molly’s eye. STONEDEN FOOLS GOLD was heavily pregnant at the time, and Molly remembers her power and her balance from all angles.
Molly says she was a little stronger than the typical show cow in North America, but she thought she had brood cow stamped all over her. And, she knew a brood cow was what she needed if she wanted to replicate a family in the UK.
“After seeing her first offspring born and develop with time, my love for this special cow continued to grow,” Molly said. “I finally agreed a deal with a sire of my choice to buy five embryos before I went home to the UK.”
FIVE FROM FIVE
They all stuck, thanks to Molly’s father, Andrew, who had strict instructions from Molly. Three weeks before the calves were due to be born, Molly returned to the UK fulltime, ready to commit to Panda Holsteins’ programme. They landed a red heifer, two black heifers, and two bulls (one red, and one black).
One of the bulls, PANDA REFACTOR-RED went to AI. The red heifer, LEXY, stayed at home and Molly showed her two black sisters, ALLY and ALEXA. They would become an unbeatable one-two combination across the UK that show season – winning first and second at every show – and often Champion and Reserve Champion. They took Panda on to win the National All Breeds All-Britain Calf Show, the National Dairy Event, and the All-Britain Awards.
At the end of the year, Panda offered the two heifers on choice. ALEXA sold for 6,000gns to Northern family (Carlisle). The original three heifers ended up scoring VG88-3Yr, EX90-4Yr 4* & EX93-2E 5Yr 14*.
ALLY was later sold in-milk, and Panda kept LEXY (the red Alexander) to develop the family. Lexy calved out going VG88-2yr, and winning HM R&W Champion at the National UK Dairy Day. She also gave Panda 32 grade A embryos, sired by Mr Atwood Brokaw. Panda sold

its first embryos outside the UK and implanted its first home-grown embryos.
The flush would yield the 2018 All Britain R&W Champion: PANDA HEART OF GOLD RED [affectionately known as “Hearty” at home]. She went to win the National UK Dairy Day R&W Champion.
“This was a dream come true for us,” Molly said.
Hearty was flushed to Emilio before that victory and Panda kept her red natural calf by Crushabull. Hearty was sold to Slatabogie Holsteins (Northern Ireland). She would go on to score EX92 8* for her new owners. Her five Emilio daughters were sold to other breeders, with four of the five classifying to EX and the sixth to VG89-3Yr.
Slatabogie did an outstanding job with the family, and several of their Avatar and Lambda daughters directly from “Hearty” all scored VG or EX. Recently at the Baileys Championships Slatabogie Lambda Gold won and continued through to be All-Britain nominated for 2024.
UNCRUSHABLE CRUSHABULL SOLD TO ITALY
As to the remaining Crushabull daughter at Panda, PANDA PURE GOLD RED VG89-3Yr MAX.
She would prove how special she was.
She won the two-year-old class and HM Intermediate Champion at the National UK Dairy Day and went on to win the 2022 All-Britian Champion R&W 2Yr Old. A complex first calving cost Panda her first calf, but when she re-calved with a Red Lambda – Panda Lamborghini Red – things started to heat up.
That summer Goldie was spotted by an international visitor a few days fresh. Three months later she was sold to Italy.
Molly travelled with Goldie on the cargo plane that was ultimately bound for Dubai – with a stopover for her in Italy. Molly stayed for two days to settle her and then returned to the UK.
It left Panda with the Red Lambda. At the 2024 National UK Dairy Day – as a young two-year-old – she won the class and best udder. It made her the fourth consecutive generation to win at the National UK Dairy Day.
The Fools Gold family continues to thrive at Panda, and it is excited to share offspring descending back to the foundation cow, Lexy (who has so far produced 13 VG or EX classified daughters, and 23 VG or EX granddaughters in more than seven countries) along with lots from arguably its most modern elite show cow, Goldie.

UNIQUE DEMPSEY CHEERS EX95 4* needs no introduction.
This incredible “peoples’ cow” was a crowd favourite, and she is recognised by most breeders not only for the incredible chrome she had smothering her udder and that silky black frame. She also had that special X-factor that makes the AllAmerican kind that everyone with this kind of passion dreams of.
Cheers started off her North American show career when Ferme Blondin & partners bought her for CAD$155,000 in the summer of 2017 as a Jr 2Yr Old. She went on to win 1st & HM Intermediate Champion at the Ontario Summer Show then 2nd at the World Dairy Expo going on to be crowned Res. AllAmerican and Res. All-Canadian Jr 2Yr Old.
She developed into a real crowd favourite the following year when she was crowned Reserve Intermediate Champion as a Jr 3Yr old at the World Dairy Expo.
“When you consider the pedigree behind Cheers, it’s clear that she is the result of countless years of calculated breeding that extends back over 10 generations of VG/EX dams,” Molly said.
So, it should come as no surprise that Panda wanted “in” on this family.
STRAIGHT TO THE SOURCE
In 2019, Panda went to the heart of the conversation. Molly approached Blondin’s Dann Brady when she spotted an eyecatching Unstopabull daughter, Blondin Unstopabull Cheers.
“I asked Dann if we could purchase a flush, and we mutually agreed a sire in KccK Amaretto Red,” Molly confirmed.
“I had a dream to breed the first RED CHEERS in the UK/Europe. Sure enough 12 months down the line in 2020, the very first RED CHEERS in the world at that time was born at Panda.”
Panda got two red heifers and one red carrier and, later in the year it sold Cheerleader in the Borderway Black & White Sale as one of the top prices of more than 10,000gns to Peter Prior.
Cheerleader went on to qualify for the National ABAB Calf show the following year for her new owners, and she recently scored EX91 fresh on her third lactation with her first daughter calved in with a VG87-2Yrs score.

CHEERIO IMPACTS
CHEERIO RED has remained at Panda and has made a huge impression on its programme.
Her Willows daughter, Cheesecake, was Nominated All-Britain R&W Heifer in 2024. Her full sister recently sold to Maverick Holsteins (after she placed 2nd at the UK Dairy Expo this year).
Cheerio has always been a strong cow, with plenty of power and an exceptional udder,” Molly said.

By her own admission, Molly has always been drawn to “pin-hooking” two-year-olds. And, after some return visits to Germany she uncovered a cow family that demanded her attention.
It was in the spring of 2019 that Molly first spotted R&W exponent, FG MADMAX NATALIE. Molly remembers her as a “beautiful two-year-old” in the Schau Der Besten on Henrik Willies’ show team.
“She was really special,” Molly said. “She had a snug, tidy udder that was welded on, with a tonne of veins. She was hard-topped, she had a long frame, and it was clear that with a little more time she would fill and develop even more.
“She came second in her class that day – which was a very respectable placing against the B&W opposition. I believed she would be at the top of the line at some point in her show career. You could just see it in her.”
Natalie would indeed fulfill her early potential, winning the Senior Red and White Championship at the 2019 National German Holstein Show.
When Molly got home after her initial finding, she immediately looked into Natalie’s family,
“I soon realised that this was a family whose roots were founded in Europe, with a long list of accolades, and I was amazed that I hadn’t seen or heard much of it until I saw her,” Molly said.
Natalie’s outcross pedigree was backed by eight generations of VG and EX dams, including FG DIESTER NATALIE RED EX93 – a dual-National Champion – who lived to 20 years of

Three other dams produced more than 100,000kgs of milk in their lifetime.
“I felt I was looking at a truly iconic individual, within a family that featured solid maternal high-producing dams with longevity and the ability to show at both national and European level. I was also excited that it also hadn’t been marketed in many countries outside of Europe.
“It gave me the hunger to invest,” Molly said.
PANDA NATIONAL VELVET was born at Panda in 2020, sired by Avatar Red (Army x Awesome from the renowned Blondin Redman Seisme Red EX97).
Molly says the “stunning” direct daughter of FG Madmax Natalie has so much more to offer than her conformation and her pedigree. In her first two lactations at Panda, she has averaged more than 9500kgs at 4.7% fat, 3.2% protein in under 260 days.
“She has developed and shaped into an incredible young cow, and because of her incredible fertility she makes up time with every lactation,” Molly said.
“She is a true herd and brood cow in the making. Her daughters carry her stamp of dairy strength. They are traits that this family is outstanding at transmitting.”

How did this family make it through Panda’s doors?
“It was early November in 2021 when an exciting six-week-old calf caught my eye in a sale in Germany,” Molly said.
“I really liked her sire stack – she was an early Red Mirand PP granddaughter of Ivy, in between a VG87-2Yr Jordy Red.
“This stunning calf was only just getting weaned, but I could see the potential she had with that modern complementary sire stack and proven pedigree.
“I knew on paper that she was special, and thankfully I had some life-long friends who were keen to join us in a partnership if the right animal ever came along.”
Molly believed she had found that individual in RZB INDIANA RED P.
PARTNERSHIP DECIDED
She contacted Mike and Lynn Robertson (Olympic Holsteins) that evening. At the end of the conversation – followed by some messages back and forth – they decided Ivy presented the perfect opportunity to ignite their partnership.
“We agreed on our budget, and that Lynn would do the bidding online,” Molly said. “It was nerve-racking, I watched the sale live on my laptop, but I had no idea if she got her or not.”
She had. A phone call minutes later confirmed it. The following spring – after a 48-hour transit from Germany – Ivy stepped into Panda’s barn for the first time.
“I was so excited to meet her after such a long wait, and even more excited to see her in the flesh,” Molly said.
“As a partnership we all decided to give her plenty of time until we brought her out to any shows, and it was 12 months later that we entered her for the UK’s biggest show, the UK Dairy Expo.”
Ivy finish second.
“It’s so easy when you get the animals that want to eat and want to do their job. Ivy is one of those. She’s such a ‘good doer’, and we were incredibly proud of her,” Molly said.
Ivy scored VG87-3Yr (VG88-MS) and Panda is confident that she will be an easy EX cow for the future.
RED, POLLED AND DIFFERENT
Being a red, polled granddaughter from Pamprd-Acres AB Ivy Red, means the family offers Europe some exciting options.
Ivy’s first daughter from Icon Red resides at Panda, and she has upheld the family’s reputation winning Honourable Mention All Britain R&W Heifer in 2024.

No pressure, no diamonds
This family speaks to the heart of Panda Holsteins first footprint on the registered industry, and how sliding doors can swing one way…or the other.
The Gems are – as the family name suggests – a traditional precious bloodline. It was rescued by a single embryo, and it has since kept pace with Panda’s modern and marketable pedigrees.
This is the first family Panda owned, making it a crucial part of Molly’s founding story. The Gems ignited Molly’s childhood dream to own registered cattle, after Molly was gifted a calf at Christmas by her father, Andrew. HONESBERIE CHARLES GEM was her reward for working weekends and after school on the family farm.
Gem was a Boulet Charles daughter – who was backed by nine generations of VG/EX with six decades of breeding – right back to the original lines in Canada of the great Youelldene & Saanwood prefixes.
“It was this very calf that gave me my first taste in the showring when I was 12,” Molly said.
The eighth dam of Panda’s line calved for the first time at 24 months, and she had her 15th calf when she was aged 17 years and one month. That longevity gene has been passed down through the family.
A SINGLE EMBRYO LEFT
When Molly’s parents sold their farm in 2007, Molly was aged 16. She refused to sell Gem and Anne Harrison “kindly took Gem on”. Four years later, when Molly returned from living and working in Canada, she found that Anne had flushed Gem for her before it was Gem’s time to exit Anne’s herd.
Gem had left Molly a single embryo. That could have been the end of the story.
“But luck was on my side, and that embryo held, giving me a healthy heifer sired by Gillette Jordan,” Molly said.
Aware that the family was hanging by a thread, Molly flushed the Jordan – who went on to score VG88 6* – to Barbwire.
It was a great cross, resulting in Panda breeding and owning the 2015 R&W National All-Breeds All-Britain Champion Calf.

Honourable Mention All Britain Champion Jr two-year-old in 2017. She was sold to Southern Ireland after the National Holstein Show, and she is now also EX90 6*.
“Rhubarb proved the line wasn’t a fluke when all three of her daughters classified Excellent or above,” Molly said.
STRIKE IT RICH GIVES BACK
Further to that a Devour daughter, PANDA STRIKE IT RICHRED, was placed second at the National UK Dairy Day, and was subsequently bought by Slatabogie Holsteins. She recently scored EX95-2E for the Paul family, and she has produced countless All-Britain offspring with all milking daughters.
Molly confirms that the line continues to thrive at Panda.
“An Absolute daughter in PANDA APPLEPIE GEM EX93-3E, has four daughters that are all scored VG or above as twoyear-olds,” Molly said. “She has produced more than 60,000kg and with two production awards under her belt she is shaping up to become a future iconic brood cow for Panda.”
PANDA PEPSI GEM, one of her Devour daughters won Champion Cow at the 2023 New Forest Show. Now fresh on her second calf, she shows great promise as a future show cow.
This is a family that has done everything asked of it – not only for Panda – but for the breeders who have invested in it through Panda.
