Sale Information INSPECTION: All sheep forward for sale will be subject to a Society Inspection. Any animal which does not reach the Inspection standard will have a red mark put on their back, these animals will not be allowed to be sold and must be removed from the Sale pens immediately. Substitute lots will be given a coloured neck tie at the time of inspection. The inspector’s decision will be final. CONDITIONS OF SALE: Sold under the British Berrichon Sheep Society Sale Rules and the Livestock Auctioneers Terms & Conditions of Sale. All sheep will be sold in guineas. A commission will be charged at 5% on all sheep. The pedigree and descriptions of the lots are believed to be correct, but are not intended as a warranty, and therefore shall be taken with all faults and errors of description. SUBSTITUTES: Two substitutes will be allowed provided that notification of ear numbers have been made to the Secretary 48 hours prior to the sale and pedigree papers are given to the Secretary / Sale Inspectors prior to the Inspection. These animals will then have a coloured neck tie placed on them. Substitutes must be like for like e.g Ram Lamb for Ram Lamb. Substitutes not notified to the Secretary will not be permitted for sale and must be removed from the sale area. All sheep must be tagged in accordance with the relevant DEFRA regulations. The Vendor shall be responsible for the correctness of identity and animals individual pedigree number must be printed on their tag. The vendor shall be responsible for all faults. Windrush Flock The Windrush Flock was founded in 2014 has established itself as a leading producer of quality stock for both the pedigree & commercial markets. We have focussed on breeding an identifiable ‘Windrush’ type of sheep – animals with shape, style, tight skins & easy fleshing carcasses. ‘Windrush’ Berrichons have gone on to perform extremely well for their new owners & we get a lot of satisfaction from this. We are proud to have sold many males & females into other pedigree flocks, not only throughout the UK but also exporting to Germany & Italy. Despite the best efforts of the pandemic, which wiped out the whole of the 2020 show & sale season, demand for ‘Windrush’ Berrichons remained high & we were able to completely sell out of stock from the farm alone earlier than ever before. We must thank all of our customers, both new & returning, for their business & support. A note to our prospective export customers: Windrush entries will be eligible for export to N.
