• All persons delivering livestock to mart must park on the hardcore area at the back of the site and then proceed along the designated route to the biosecurity control next to the supervisors office.
• Hauliers and farmers delivering livestock must disinfect their boots before and after loading or unloading.
• Livestock purchased or unsold will not be allowed to move unless an authorised “pass slip” has been issued by the main office.
• No livestock will be allowed to remain on the premises after a sale.

General Information & Sale Notes
LOCATION: The Sale will be held in the Borderway Mart, Carlisle Cumbria. Motorists should leave the M6 at Junction 43 and follow CARLISLE signs. The Market is on the left hand side of the road within 1/4 mile of M6.
CONDITIONS OF SALE - Sold under the conditions of sale as recommended by The Livestock Auctioneers’ Association.
METHOD OF SALE - All sheep will be sold in guineas (105 pence) and strictly in catalogue order, unless any alteration is announced by the Auctioneers.
COMMISSIONS - The Auctioneers will dutifully execute commissions to purchase for buyers unable to attend the sale personally, upon receipt of written instructions.
SETTLEMENT AND CLEARANCE OF STOCK - Settlement in full is due immediately at the close of Sale. No animal may leave the Sale Premises without an official ‘Pass Slip’, obtainable only from the Auctioneers upon settlement.

FOREWORD
After 31 years of breeding pedigree Berrichons here at Newark Farm, Upper Nitchsdale in South West Scotland, we have taken the hard decision to reduce our breeding female numbers, having started off with the purchase of one In Lamb ewe at the inaugural sale at Harrison & Hetherington in 1991.
Our females have all been homebred from our closed flock of 31 years with no other females bought in.
Our policy has been to breed true to type, which retains the attributes and origins of the Breed. With stock being correct to which they will thrive in any management system.
Our females, with their depth of breeding have been the foundation of many new flocks and can be found throughout the bloodline in the UK, Ireland and Germany.
