We started our journey in Charollais in 1981 with the purchase of the ewe lambs and a ram lamb when the breed was relatively new to the Country and have been breeding them ever since. Our business has developed a lot over the years with the primary focus now being on commercial ram production; breeding rams which are fit for purpose and meet the requirements of our customers with the vast majority of rams being sold from the farm to returning customers. The Charollais’ have always been an ideal breed for us as the animals deemed top pedigree sheep are your ultimate commercial sheep with vigour, growth rate and easy fleshing.
Over the past few years we have been exporting a lot of females into Europe but with Brexit making live exports more difficult we haven’t had this market and therefore have kept more sheep in the flock. Numbers have grown and we have now decided to cut back a bit and offer some of our top genetics for sale on the 6th of November, this includes our entire shearling ewe crop, which has been a hard decision with so many stars amongst them. This provides an unrivalled chance to buy some of the top genetics in the breed.
Over the years we have endeavoured to breed the best sheep we can, we have invested a great deal of time and money, going to various sales including Premier Sales, flock dispersals and have hand picked a number of rams and ewes which have really brought the flock to another level. This has also been fast tracked through the use of embryo transfer work which has allowed us to increase the amount of daughters coming into the flock by our top breeding females.
We have had some great success over recent years at the Shows and the Sales including many breed and Interbreed Championships at local shows as well as the Royal Highland and Royal Welsh. We have also had great success at Worcester Premier Sale over the years consistently being amongst the top averages for both Shearling and Ram Lambs. 2022 was no exception winning Champion and Reserve in the pre sale Show with shearlings selling to 9,000 gns and lambs to 7,000 gns producing an overall average of £2984 for the 20 rams we had forward.

v The Glyn Coch flock winning Champion at the Royal Welsh with a beautiful ewe lamb again sired by Wall St.
v Hollylodge flock who won Champion and Top price at Dungannon with a ram lamb out of Loanhead Ur the Boy, a ram purchased in 2019 from us
v Uppertown flock S Ireland who were Champion at their Premier Sale with a ram lamb sold for 4,600euros out of a ewe lamb they had purchased privately from us.
v Rockdale Flock who topped the Premier Sale in S. Ireland this year at 8,000euros with a ram lamb that was a Grandson of a ewe that had been purchased privately from us.

A small amount of semen was purchased last year from Vancouver, he was used to flush a handful of ewes with which has been a great success. We had two ram lambs by him at the Premier Sale, a ewe lamb that topped the online Summer Sizzlers Sale and a very good show ewe lamb. There are a handful of lambs by him in the sale which are Crackers!

Top Price lamb at this years Premier Sale purchased for 15,000gns after winning 1st prize in the open ram lamb class. He is an exciting prospect that has maintained his fleshing and grown whilst running with ewes. With the style, skin and Carcase that Ace carries he looks like he should be a top breeder for the future.
Last years top priced lamb at the Premier Sale purchased for 17,000gns, has grown into a huge athletic ram with great style, length and overall carriage.
