NEMSA Sale Rules

FARM & RURAL INSURANCE

1. Lambs presented at Association Sales must be the bona-fide property of members and tagged with a tag bearing the NEMSA logo and UK flock number 2. They must be sired by a pure Bluefaced Leicester ram, out of either a Swaledale or Northumberland type Blackface ewe.

3. At Association Sales, all lambs forward will be subject to the scrutiny of inspectors.

4. Any member whose stock is deemed to be of incorrect parentage will be warned in writing the first year, then, if there is no improvement the following year, their membership will be terminated.

5. There shall be no black lambs.

6. The use of coloured yarns to mark pens of lambs is banned.

7. Lambs sold at Association sales will be subject to whatever levy is in force at the time.

8. Any disputes arising as a result of these rules will be settled by the Council of Management of the Association.

9. Consignments found incorrectly tagged will be moved to the end of the sale.

The order of Sale having been previously drawn by Mr Stan Davis Kirkby Stephen Mart Holding Number - 08/320/8000 Sold under the Conditions of Sale as displayed in the Mart recommended by the Livestock Auctioneers Association for England And Wales.

The auctioneers shall not be liable in any way for any deficiencies in either the vendor’s tagging of his sheep nor the reading equipment being used at the CPRC in accordance with the EID Regulations nor any reading or print out produced by the said equipment Vendors All Sheep consigned to this Sale must be accompanied by a completed ARAMS1 movement document and all vendors must ensure that holding and flock numbers are supplied.

Please ensure that all Sheep are ear tagged to comply with regulations.

Purchasers Please have available the holding number, address and postcode to which the animals will be moving No lots can leave the market without a pass slip and movement licence issued by the main office Should you require assistance in arranging transport of livestock purchased please contact the Auctioneer or Fieldstaff It is the responsibility of the buyer to ensure that any animals destined for the food chain are outwith any withdrawal period. This includes antibiotics, anthelmintics or sheep dip that the seller may have given prior to sale Please note all sheep left on the auction premises are done so at the owner/purchasers own risk, Harrison & Hetherington cannot be held responsible for any death/injury sustained after the sale.

Treatment All Sheep at this sale must have been treated with a scab approved product. .

NOTICE TO PURCHASERS Business Trading Terms and Settlement of Purchases Payment due on Day of Purchase Interest chargeable from date of purchase at 7.25% over Clydesdale Bank base rate at the time, for accounts in default Purchases shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law in England and Scotland Accepted form of payments direct bank transfer; debit card; cheque - known customers only; bankers draft 2% surcharge will apply to Business Credit Card payments If payment is made by credit card, it must be linked to a business bank account New customers and or agents wishing to purchase on behalf of another party must contact the company's main office at Carlisle at least 48 hours prior to sale, to provide full details and references for authorisation Please note that all lots/items must be settled on the day of purchase and prior to clearance of any stock For the avoidance of doubt H&H reserve the right to contra or keep sale proceeds to offset against an outstanding account

• Please remember that purchaser spaces will be limited, so only ONE person per business will be allowed entry • No children under 16 years old will be able to attend the sales and this must be strictly adhered to as entry will be refused • Pregnant ladies must not attend the sale • 2m social distancing must be observed wherever possible • Face coverings are mandatory for all persons entering the mart. These must be worn without exception while in the market including the sales rings and pens • To facilitate the Test and Trace system, all customers/visitors will be required to sign into the market.

This process will include a declaration that they have not been in contact with anyone displaying symptoms of COVID-19, nor are displaying symptoms personally • Hand sanitiser stations will be available throughout the mart; however, it is strongly recommended that both consignors and buyers have an adequate personal supply and to use it regularly • Please follow instructions from market staff and security staff. A private security firm will be in attendance to assist H&H in ensuring social distancing is observed wherever possible • Strictly no private videoing/broadcasting on Social media, or phones etc in the pens or ring • If you are unable or do not wish to attend the mart but would like to bid on animal(s), then the auctioneers will faithfully execute commission bids for buyers. Please contact them and put your instructions in writing 48 hours in advance of the sale. Alternatively, you can arrange to make a telephone bid during the sale

BIOSECURITY – Intending purchasers are requested to have livestock vehicles cleansed and disinfected. Vendors will be required to wash out their livestock vehicles after unloading.
