Following the untimely passing of Mr Morris the family have decided to sell the entire milking portion of their black & white cows. In general the cows are square types with influence from the British Friesian breed; currently the herd is averaging just over 7000kgs at 4.19% bf & 3.5% p with an average cell count of 141. They are all year round calving with a large percentage in-calf to the Blonde sire and a reaming select number of animals in-calf to sexed semen. Herd Health: The herd is a closed herd and all the animals have been home bred for many years. No vaccination programme is performed within the herd. They are in a four year TB testing area and the last herd test was in March 2019. 121

Wall End farm is situated on the edge of the Lake District just outside the historic market town of Broughton in Furness. The site is surrounded by spectacular views of the Lakeland fells and valleys. The herd is made up of highly productive cattle that graze from early spring to late autumn. Montbeliarde, British Friesian, Swedish Red, Fleckvieh & Norwegian Red genetics have all been used over the years and with some success. The herd is averaging 7200kg 4.5% 3.34% The heifers selling are strong framed with excellent feet and legs and will develop into robust, long living, productive animals in the future. Herd Health: The herd is in a TB 4 yearly testing area, vaccinated for BVD & Lepto and is tested clear of Johnes. All of the heifers have been BVD tag tested negative. The milking herd and dams of the heifers selling are all pedigree Fleckvieh cows currently producing 29kgs per day. The heifers selling are all sired by top Fleckvieh sires with a vast importance placed on butterfat and protein. Herd Health: The herd tested free BVD and the farm is in a four year TB testing area 301-345

Sold under the conditions of sale as displayed in the mart recommended by the Livestock Auctioneers Association for England and Wales Please ensure all paperwork is handed into the office at least 1 hour before the animals enter the sale ring All cattle must be double tagged with Ministry approved tags and information supplied on the respective entry forms It is the responsibility of the buyer to ensure that any animals destined for the food chain are out with any withdrawal period. This includes antibiotics and anthelmintics that the seller may have given prior to sale. Payment will only be made to the exhibitor. No lots can leave the market without a pass slip being issued by the main office TB Testing: All cattle over the age of 41days moving out of yearly testing herds must be premovement tested within 60 days prior to the sale. The yearly TB testing interval of the herd consignment will be provided on the display board at the point of sale. The yearly testing interval will be signified by the numbers 1 or 4. The information is given for guidance only, Harrison & Hetherington Ltd accept no responsibility for any consequences of such information All purchasers have two working days from the time of sale to satisfy themselves that all documentation received is correct and any discrepancies must be notified to the auctioneers within the time limit No cow or heifer in the last 10% of pregnancy (approximately 27 days), or that has given birth in the last week, are considered not fit for transport, and are also unfit for presentation at a market. UDDER WARRANTY Unless otherwise stated or announced, any cow or heifer in-milk at the time of the sale shall carry a Vendors Warranty that she is correct in udder and teats at the time of sale. Any claim under this warranty must be notified to the Auctioneers within one hour of the close of the sale, which can be submitted on an oral basis. If the auctioneers are satisfied that the udder is not correct in all respects, and does not comply with the warranty given, the sale of the animal can be cancelled.
