General Information & Sale Notes Location: This sale will be held in the Borderway Mart, Carlisle Cumbria. Motorists should leave the M6 at Junction 43 and follow CARLISLE signs. The market is on the left hand side of the road within 1/4 mile of M6. ARRIVAL OF STOCK:

Hotels: There are many hotels within the area, ranging from four star to excellent Bed and Breakfast accommodation, a list of which may be found on page 4 of the catalogue. Conditions of sale: Sold under the Hampshire Down Sheep Breeders Association Sale Rules (see end of catalogue) and the Livestock Auctioneers Terms & Conditions of Sale. A commission will be charged at 5% on all sheep. All sheep must have ear tags to comply with current ministry regulations. The vendor shall be responsible for all faults. The buyer has one hour after the end of the sale to complain. Upset Price There will be minimum reserve (upset) prices for sale entries as follows:Ewe lambs 150 guineas, Shearling ewes 200 guineas, Older ewes no minimum, All rams 200 guineas. Any sheep sold outside the ring must not be below these minimum prices and must be booked through the Auctioneers. Any sheep failing to reach the upset price in its category will be passed out unsold. Method of sale: All sheep will be sold in guineas (105 pence) and strictly in catalogue order, unless any alteration is announced by the Auctioneers. Commissions: The auctioneers will dutifully execute commissions to purchase for buyers unable to attend the sale personally, upon receipt of written instructions. Insurance: A representative of Auctioneers Insurance Brokers will be present at the sale and will be pleased to quote purchasers for transit and other risks. Settlement And Clearance of Stock: Settlement in full is due immediately at the close of sale. No animal may leave the sale premises without an offical â€˜pass slipâ€™ obtainable only from the Auctioneers upon settlement.
