All animals sell WITHOUT RESERVE HEALTH STATUS The herd is in the SAC Premier Health Cattle Scheme and is vaccinated for IBR and is tested clear of BVD. The herd has been monitored for Johnes disease for years and is a low rick herd. The farm is situated in a four year TB testing area, there has never been a case on the farm and the last herd test was April 2021.

FOREWORD This is the first sale to disperse the GREENTOWERS Pedigree Holstein herd which is taking place as part of the Smith’s restructuring process. Currently the herd is averaging 9449kgs 4.01% butterfat and 3.32% protein with an average cell count of 127. This sale comprises all the most recently calved animals averaging 35kgs plus a number of spring calving animals that are either due to sexed or the Angus.

The type of cow selling is strong framed with excellent body condition the breeding objectives have been focused on strong feet and legs, production and longevity.

Some of the very BEST bulls have been selected over the years with a big influence coming from the Warnelview, Annandale and Stardale herds. Warnelview Retake sires several of the young milking two year olds he sold for 5,300gns in the 2018 Spring Sale and is a direct son of Warnelview Iota Ruby EX92.

Another Warnelview bull that has left some attractive and very milky heifers was Warnelview Nomad who is bred from an Excellent line of the Nugget family. Stardale Rambo sires some of the young cows he is a Madi Gras son from the Vaakje cow family and has sired quality udders throughout.

The herd is cubicle housed and are on two times milking and fed on a grass based TMR. This first group to sell are youthful with 35 heifers in milk, 30 second lactation cows, 32 third lactation cows and 33 having had four or more calvings.
