The Market is on the left hand side of the road within 1/4 mile of M6. VIEWING - The Sale Sheep will be available for viewing at Borderway Mart, Carlisle on Friday 9th November. The Roundacre Flock was established in 2005 with top females being purchased from Stockton and Strathisla flocks. Over the years further additions of top females have been made from Deveronside, Lakeview and Strathisla. With regard to rams only top rams with the best genetics have been bought and used. These include 7500gns Glenisla Grimaldi, 14,000gns Strathisla Schemacher, 20,000gns Strathisla Speed, 3800gns Cairness Liam, 5000gns Cairness Kaos (Edinburgh Champion 2010), 21,000gns Cairness Great Expectations, 10,000gns Deveronside Doodlebug, Roundacre Rio – the best lamb ram born in the flock in 2016 and retained for the flock’s own use, ET brother to 2nd and 3rd prize RHS ewe lambs 2016 - and 21,000gns Lakeview Bob (National Sale Champion 2017). Also this year’s two exciting new purchases 10,000gns Birness Bang Tidy and 1000gns Lavenham Aven’um. The flock has achieved notable show success over the last 13 years at major shows throughout the UK including: 2 Interbreed Championships 3 Reserve Interbreed Championships 14 Breed Championships 9 Reserve Breed Championships Sales from the flock have peaked at 6000gns on three occasions for Roundacre Rockstar Edinburgh 2009, Roundacre Rafiki Stirling 2017 and Roundacre Reggae sold privately to the Stanworth flock 2018. Others have sold to 4500gns(x2), 2500gns(x2), 2400gns, 2000gns(x2) and many more a four figure sums. In total 50 rams have been registered with the Roundacre prefix since established. Females have peaked at 5800gns for a ewe lamb sold at Dark Diamonds 2016, 4000gns, 3000gns(x2) and 2000gns with many more sold privately. The 2nd prize RHS ewe lamb sold at Dark Diamonds in 2016 for 5800gns to the Knockem flock went on to win 1st prize gimmer and Reserve Breed Champion RHS 2017. The flock’s policy is to breed sheep which are good on their legs, have good tops and carcass with plenty of style and breed character. Due to a fantastic flush (58 embryos from 3 ewes) and hold rate we are pleased to be able to offer a great selection of ewes, gimmers and ewe lambs at this year’s sale from some of the best lines in the flock which would not normally be offered for sale. The Balquhain Flock has had great success in the show ring this year the highlight being winning both the lamb ram and shearling ram classes at this year’s Royal Highland Show with our lamb ram going on to take the Male Championship. Other successes include winning Interbreed and Breed Championships at many of the local shows attended. The flocks show ewe went on to win the Scottish Area Branch Female of the Year 2018. Pay market value of an animal for death or slaughter on humane grounds during the period of insurance following an accident or illness, including the pregnancy and parturition risk for females.

Cover applies for 3 months from 'fall of hammer' on the date of the sale, shown in the policy schedule, at which the animal was purchased. Death or slaughter on humane grounds must occur within this period.

The maximum amount payable for any one animal insured under a Luckpenny policy is ÂŁ150,000. Claims involving any injury sustained or illness or disease first appearing before the start of cover will be excluded.

Slaughter for economic reasons or because the animal is incapable of performing the function for which it is kept is excluded. Slaughter under statute or the rules of an eradication scheme is excluded. Theft, straying and mysterious disappearance are not covered. Claim payments will be reduced by the value of semen or ova in store for AI or ET. The relevant Breed Society will be notified if a claim payment is made. Claims Handling Process If anything happens that may give rise to a claim, 1. if you are the policyholder, you must tell us as soon as possible, giving your name and policy number. If a claim is being made against you: • do not respond to any writ, letter, claim or other documentation • send any writ, letter, claim or other documentation to us without delay • do not admit, repudiate or negotiate any claim. 2. if you are the purchaser of an animal insured you must immediately: i) obtain veterinary assistance ii) inform NFU Mutual, by contacting your local NFU Mutual office (or the office that issued the policy, if you know it), quoting a) the date and place of purchase b) the vendors name (and policy number, if you know it) c) the lot number. We will not pay a claim unless either the policyholder or purchaser, 1. Tells NFUM or the police immediately (or in any event within seven days) if the loss is caused by a criminal act, riot, or malicious persons. 2. Supplies, at the policyholder’s own expense, details of the claim in writing. This includes any supporting information or evidence that we require. 3. Does not admit, deny, negotiate, or settle any claim without our prior consent. 4. Informs NFUM at least 24 hours before disposing of any carcase (other than disposal following death by anthrax or slaughter under any official scheme rules relating to the eradication of a specific disease).
