General Information & Sale Notes LOCATION: The sale will be held in the Borderway Mart, Carlisle Cumbria. Motorists should leave the M6 at Junction 43 and follow CARLISLE signs. The Market is on the left hand side of the road within 1/4 mile of M6. VIEWING - The Sale Sheep will be available for viewing at Borderway Mart, Carlisle on Friday 4th December. Prior viewing of the sheep is most welcome, please contact vendors direct - see page 8. HOTELS - There are many hotels within the area, ranging from four star to excellent Bed and Breakfast accommodation, a list of which may be found in the catalogue. CONDITIONS OF SALE - The Pedigree and Description of each lots and all information as to service sire dates and health are believed to be correct. Sold under the conditions of sale as displayed in the market, recommended by the Livestock Auctioneer’s Committee for England and Wales. Over the years further additions of top females have been made from Deveronside – 3,000gns, Lakeview – 2,900gns and Strathisla – 4,000gns, 3,600gns and 2,200gns. With regard to rams, only top rams with the best genetics have been bought and used. These include Glenisla Grimaldi – 7,500gns, Strathisla Schumacher – 14,000gns, Strathisla Speed – 20,000gns, Strathisla Xtasy – 3,800gns, Cairness Liam – 3,800gns, Cairness Kaos – 5,000gns (Edinburgh Champion 2010), Cairness Great Expectations – 21,000gns and Rhaeadr Red Devil – 5,500gns. The flock has achieved notable show success over the last 10 years at over three major county shows here in the South West of England, namely - Devon County Show, Royal Bath & West Show and the Royal Cornwall Show. With others at 4,500gns – Roundacre Rojo, 4,500gns Roundacre Romeo, 2,500gns – Roundacre Torrez, 2,500gns - Roundacre Royston, 2,400gns – Roundacre Rascal, 2,000gns – Roundacre Rusty, 2,000gns – Roundacre Cyclone, 1,900gns – Roundacre Beckham and 1,800gns – Roundacre Real Deal. Plus numerous others at four figure sums. In total 31 rams have been registered with the Roundacre prefix since established . Female sales have peaked at 3,600gns, 3,000gns and 2,000gns with many more sold privately. The flocks policy is to breed sheep which are good on their legs, good tops and carcase with plenty of style. He is a son of Ardlea Arbenning 90,000gns.

Forkins Firestarter (98183) â€“ purchased jointly for 6,000gns Stirling 2014. A big powerful, well fleshed ram with great silky hair. Dam (11:026) was the flocks show ewe lamb and gimmer. Birness Bacardi (sire) cost 12,000gns with sons selling to 7,500gns including 2014 Sire of the Year.

Reference to Past Sires Cairness Kaos (94796) – Edinburgh Champion 2010 sold for 5,000gns. He won 1st prize shearling ram RHAS 2011. He also sired 1st prize ram lamb RHAS 2011. Kaos had great colours, skin, bone and carcass.

Cairnton Jagger (96335) – Carlisle Champion 2012 purchased for 2,800gns. He was unbeaten in the show ring during 2013. He has bred tremendous females that are breeding well themselves.

Roundacre Romeo (96336) – sold at the National Sale 2012 for 4,500gns with a share retained.

Lakeview Hezza Lord (96814) – Lakeview’s top lamb 2013. A massive ram with a great mouth, skin, carcass and power, Sons have sold to 1,800gns (Roundacre Real Deal) – Pyeston Flock.

Cairness Great Expectations (96936) – purchased jointly for 21,000gns Stirling 2013. He carries great style, flesh, power, skin and mouth. We are delighted with how he has bred with his top five sons so far selling for 10,000gns (x2), 5,200gns,4,500gns, 4,300gns. Gsons have sold to 18,000gns.

Our aim has always been to breed sheep that have character, and fleshing ability, with tight skins, and are good on their legs. Sales from the flock have topped at 24,000gns for Kings High & Mighty , he became Sire of the Year in 2005, having been Reserve in 2004. Other sale highlights include the late February born lamb Kings Gold sold for 8,200gns in 2010.
