There has been a lifetime of care and dedication gone into breeding and caring for these beautiful British Friesian cattle and they have the potential to produce a lot more milk if encouraged to do so. The milking herd is All Year Round calving with the current Calving Index at an impressive 368 days. They are averaging 5549kgs 4.52% butterfat 3.74% protein with a cell count of 89. The milking herd is grazed for most of the year & is cubicle housed during the winter and milked twice a day in an abreast milking system. They are NMR milk recorded with the latest test was on the 15th November 2018. CUMRUE FARMING PARTNERS, CUMRUE FARM, LOCKERBIE, DUMFRIESSHIRE Cumrue Farming Partners are a spring calving herd of highly productive NEW ZEALAND FRIESIANS with a large number of them producing their live weight in milk solids each year. The decision to sell this youthful group of milking cows and heifers has been made as they have moved out of their spring calving period and are now DUE IN JULY 2019 to a high EBI Irish Friesian. All animal selling last calved in February or March 2018 and were checked pregnant on Thursday 29th November 2018 by the farm’s vet. This is an excellent opportunity especially for those milk producers in the market for autumn milk in 2019. The animals selling are YOUNG & include 56 heifers in milk & 20 cows in their second. This excellent grazing herd is one of the highest genetic merit herds in the UK under the EBI index system. The animals selling are currently testing close to 5% butterfat & 3.7% protein with a cell count under 100. The genetics used within the herd are focused on breeding strong powerful animals that will produce high butterfat and protein from grass. Fertility and longevity is also a major focus point when selecting genetics and LIC are employed as the genetic provider. The cows have been housed for the past two weeks and are cubicle housed and milked twice a day on a rotary milking parlor. Herd Health: The herd is vaccinated for IBR & is tested free of BVD. LUNDIE FARMING LTD, ARDGARTH FARM, LUNDIE, DUNDEE The Ardgarth herd is a spring calving herd and is currently averaging 5.26% BF and 4.68% P. The genetics used within the herd are mainly New Zealand genetics with the aim to breed a strong robust cow ideally suited to produce milk from grass. The reason to sell these young and highly productive heifers in milk and cows in milk is that they have moved out of their spring calving period. The following cows and heifers are all PD in-calf to either the pedigree Aberdeen Angus or Hereford stock bulls, due June or July 2019. For the past three years we sold a similar number of cows from this fine herd and have a lot of positive feedback from the purchases. Sold under the conditions of sale as displayed in the mart recommended by the Livestock Auctioneers Association for England and Wales Please ensure all paperwork is handed into the office at least 1 hour before the animals enter the sale ring All cattle must be double tagged with Ministry approved tags and information supplied on the respective entry forms It is the responsibility of the buyer to ensure that any animals destined for the food chain are outwith any withdrawal period. This includes antibiotics and anthelmintics that the seller may have given prior to sale. Payment will only be made to the exhibitor. No lots can leave the market without a pass slip being issued by the main office TB Testing: All cattle over the age of 41days moving out of yearly testing herds must be premovement tested within 60 days prior to the sale. The yearly TB testing interval of the herd consignment will be provided on the display board at the point of sale. The yearly testing interval will be signified by the numbers 1 or 4. The information is given for guidance only, Harrison & Hetherington Ltd accept no responsibility for any consequences of such information All purchasers have two working days from the time of sale to satisfy themselves that all documentation received is correct and any discrepancies must be notified to the auctioneers within the time limit No cow or heifer in the last 10% of pregnancy (approximately 27 days), or that has given birth in the last week, are considered not fit for transport, and are also unfit for presentation at a market. UDDER WARRANTY Unless otherwise stated or announced, any cow or heifer in-milk at the time of the sale shall carry a Vendors Warranty that she is correct in udder and teats at the time of sale. Any claim under this warranty must be notified to the Auctioneers within one hour of the close of the sale, which can be submitted on an oral basis. If the auctioneers are satisfied that the udder is not correct in all respects, and does not comply with the warranty given, the sale of the animal can be cancelled.
