General Information & Sale Notes LOCATION: This sale will be held in the Borderway Mart, Carlisle Cumbria. Motorists should leave the M6 at Junction 43 and follow CARLISLE signs. The market is on the left hand side of the road within 1/4 mile of M6. ARRIVAL OF STOCK:

HOTELS: There are many hotels within the area, ranging from four star to excellent Bed and Breakfast accommodation, a list of which may be found on page 4 of the catalogue. CONDITIONS OF SALE: Sold under the Blue Texel Sheep Society Sale Rules and the Livestock Auctioneers Terms & Conditions of Sale. A commission will be charged at 5% on all sheep. All sheep must have ear tags to comply with current ministry regulations. The vendor shall be responsible for all faults. The buyer has one hour after the end of the sale to complain. PRE-SALE INSPECTION: All sheep forward for the sale will be subject to a Society Inspection. Any animal which does not reach the Inspection standard will not be eligible for show or sale. The Inspection decision will be final and any animal failed will be removed from the sale and forfeit the entry fee. PEDIGREE TRANSFER: A transfer fee of £5 per sheep is payable by the purchaser and paid to BTSS SOCIETY LEVY of 1% will be deducted from vendors account and paid to the BTSS. METHOD OF SALE: All sheep will be sold in guineas (105 pence) and strictly in catalogue order, unless any alteration is announced by the Auctioneers. COMMISSIONS: The auctioneers will dutifully execute commissions to purchase for buyers unable to attend the sale personally, upon receipt of written instructions. INSURANCE: A representative of Auctioneers Insurance Brokers will be present at the sale and will be pleased to quote purchasers for transit and other risks. SETTLEMENT AND CLEARANCE OF STOCK: Settlement in full is due immediately at the close of sale. No animal may leave the sale premises without an offical ‘pass slip’ obtainable only from the Auctioneers upon settlement.
