THE STATESMAN FLOCK

Since the Statesman Flock was established in 2004, it has consistently bred high quality stock with shape, good skins and style for pedigree and commercial sheep markets alike. Great success has been achieved in both the show and sale rings, winning top show flock numerous times, and setting sale centre records. The flock has won breed champion at the RWS, GYS, RTCS as well as the top spot the premier show & sale at Carlisle three times.

Statesman sheep have been the foundation stock of many pedigree flocks and have either achieved breed championships for their new owners or gone on to breed show winners. This year’s crop of lambs are sired by the consistent breeding ram, Windrush V8 (see photo below as a lamb). Please find us on Facebook ‘Statesman Berrichons’ for more info and photos of the stock entered.

YARBURGH PEDIGREE LIVESTOCK

Richard and Jade of Yarburgh Pedigree Livestock in Louth, Lincolnshire acquired their current breeding lines from many of the influential flocks around the UK. It has become evident that Richard has a keen eye when it comes to recognising excellent genetics and successful blood lines. They are breeding plenty of bone and length with an abundance of muscle. All of their sheep are very correct with the signature ‘Yarburgh head’. This has been proven with the Yarburgh flock having many show and sale winners. They had Female Champion at Worcester last year with Yarburgh Westerly, bought by the Tooloos flock. The same happened at Carlisle, they took Female Champion with Yarburgh Wednesday, bought by Golanview flock from Northern Ireland. The quality also follows through into their commercial flock. In Spring this year, their commercial lambs topped their local Livestock Market in Louth, which was also the highest price in the UK for that week.
