All vehicles transporting livestock will be subject to a documentation check before entry to market site.

All visitors and traders must ensure they wear clean clothing and footwear before entering market site.

All visitors and traders using car park areas please use main entrance.

Hauliers and farmers delivering livestock must disinfect their boots before and after loading or unloading.

Livestock purchased or unsold will not be allowed to move unless an authorised “pass slip” has been issued by the main office.
No livestock will be allowed to remain on the premises after a sale.

Only staff, livestock hauliers, owners or their agents are permitted to load or unload livestock.

Wash hands thoroughly when leaving pennage areas.

CONDITIONS OF SALE
TIMETABLE OF EVENTS Arrival of stock - 9.30am - 12noon Inspection - 12noon Sale - Approx - 4.30pm
1. Entry is open to MV Accredited Sheep only. 2. Commission will be deducted at a rate of 5.25% on all sheep sold. 3. A Society Levy of 1% will be deducted from the vendor’s account and paid to the Badger Face Texel Sheep Society 4. All sheep will be sold under the Conditions of Sale of the Livestock Auctioneers Association. 5. Transfer Fee- A fee of £5 will be charged to the purchaser is they wish to transfer their purchase to their flock. 6. All sheep to be fully registered with the Badger Face Texel Society . All sheep must have official ear tattoos or tags and also be tagged in accordance with the relevant DEFRA regulations. The Vendor shall be responsible for the correctness of identity. 7. Pre Sale Inspection- All sheep forward for sale will be subject to a Society inspection. Any animal which does not reach the inspection standard will not be eligible for sale. The inspection decision will be final and any animal failing, must be removed immediately from the sale and forfeit the entry fee. No appeal is permitted. 8. Substitutes – Details of Substitutes must be submitted to the Auctioneer/ Society Secretary 24 hours prior to sale. 9. The Badger Face Texel Sheep Society Sub-Register allows females registered with the Beltex, Blue Texel & Texel (inc Dutch Texels) Society’s to be used for Badger Face Breeding. All females entered into the Badger Face Sub-Register can only be bred with a Badger Face Ram. These animals entered in the Sub- Register are not guaranteed to breed Badger Face Texel Sheep. If resulting offspring are correctly marked with Badger Face Markings they can enter the main registry or female offspring retained in the sub registry to be used for future breeding. 10. Export to Northern Ireland: As of 1 January 2021, the rules for exporting sheep from the United Kingdom to Northern Ireland and the European Union have changed for moving breeding stock to Northern Ireland – NO Direct Export or Vendor Returns will be available. It will be the responsibility of the purchaser and/or the vendor to make any necessary arrangements for sheep going to Northern Ireland.
