General Information & Sale Notes Location: The Sale will be held at the Borderway Mart, Rosehill, Carlisle, Cumbria situated close to the M6 Junction 43. Motorists (from north or south) should leave the Motorway at this Junction and turn west towards Carlisle on the A69. The Mart is within1/4 mile of the Motorway (filter left at the traffic lights) on the Rosehill Industrial Estate.

Method and Order of Sale: All animals will be sold in guineas (105 pence) and strictly in catalogue order unless any alteration is authorised and announced by the Auctioneers.

Conditions Of Sale: The sale is held subject to the Auction Sale Rules of HUKI and the Auctioneer General Terms and Conditions of Sale, both available on request.

Settlement And Clearance Of Stock: Settlement in full is due to the Auctioneers immediately at the conclusion of the Sale. No animal may leave the Sale Premises without an official PASS, obtainable only from the Auctioneers upon settlement and all stock should be cleared from the sale premises on the day of the sale.

Pedigree Transfers: All cattle in the sale are registered with the Ayrshire Cattle Society and will be officially transferred and pedigrees for all these animals will be effected by the Auctioneers and the Society as soon as possible after the sale - free of expense to the Purchasers.

Commissions: The Auctioneers will faithfully execute commissions to purchase on behalf of buyers unable to attend the sale in person upon receipt of written notice and instructions received in their office not later than 48 hours before commencement of sale. Given the same notice telephone bids can be accommodated.

Insurance: Facilities will be available (through H&H Insurance Brokers Ltd.) for buyers to insure their animals for transit and other risks, from the fall of the hammer.

Excessive dirty vehicles will not be allowed entry, therefore ensure vehicle is clean before arrival.

All vehicles transporting livestock will be subject to a documentation check before entry to market site.

●

All visitors and traders must ensure they wear clean clothing and footwear before entering market site.

●

All visitors and traders using car park areas please use main entrance.

●

All persons delivering livestock to mart must park on the hardcore area at the back of the site and then proceed along the designated route to the biosecurity control next to the supervisors office.

●

Hauliers and farmers delivering livestock must disinfect their boots before and after loading or unloading.

●

Livestock purchased or unsold will not be allowed to move unless an authorised “pass slip” has been issued by the main office.

●

No livestock will be allowed to remain on the premises after a sale.

●

Only staff, livestock hauliers, owners or their agents are permitted to load or unload livestock.

●

Wash hands thoroughly when leaving livestock pennage areas.

●

Forward Although smaller in numbers this year there is certainly no lack in quality for the 2016 Northern National show and sale.

If its milk quantity you are after we have it here, if its milk quality we have that too! Type is an obvious certainty with the tremendous families on offer.

Families such as Mayflower, Mary Rose, Margaret, Queen, Jinks and Trixie are all on offer as milking animals. Fresh cows and heifers with some phenomenal yields and exceptional components all feature!

Lot 13 a Sandy Red from Morwick is a Red and White with 5 generations with huge milk and components behind this exciting family Lot 15 Cuthill Towers Rambo Milly from the superb Margaret family is from 8 generations of VG/EX. Type, yields and fat and protein make this individual a super prospect.

This sale now has a reputation to produce young bulls for everyone’s needs. This year is no exception!

Three young bulls from the Armstrong family at Plaskett Lands including Plaskett Eclipse from the great Jolly family. Out of Jolly 197 a cow with top quality components sired by a young bull Hilltown Oblique who is also a component specialist and is a good plus in milk.
