Auctioneers Conditions of Sale
1. The stock will be sold in Euro’s plus 5.5%.
2. The bidding is to be regulated by the auctioneers, the auctioneers will regulate the bidding as they see fit.
3. The highest bidder for any lot shall be the buyer and the contract shall be concluded on the fall of the hammer. If any dispute should arise, the lot in dispute is to be put up again and re-sold, or the Auctioneers may determine the dispute at their discretion and their decision shall be final.
4. The Auctioneers reserve the right to refuse the bid of any person without being called upon to give a reason for such action. The purchaser is to give his/her name and dwelling place and pay for all lots at the close of sale. No lot or lots shall be removed from the vendor’s premises until paid for, but each and every lot shall immediately at the fall of the hammer be considered as delivered and be and remain in every respect at the absolute risk and expense of the respective purchaser or purchasers thereof and shall be removed at the purchasers’ expense.
5. It shall be the Vendor’s responsibility to ensure that their animals are declared as being eligible for export at the time of sale. No liability shall rest with the Auctioneers for failure to declare any animal as being export tested.
6. Title (ie.ownership) to any animal or animals will not pass to the purchaser until payment of the entire price bid by that person or persons shall be discharged to Denis Barrett Auctions. Tendering of a cheque, which is not subsequently honoured or not paid for any reason, shall be deemed to constitute non-payment.
7. All loading shall be the duty and responsibility of the purchaser. All animal movements are the duty of the vendor and purchaser
8. All statements in the catalogue or any made by the Auctioneers at the time of sale, also the identification of the animals, are the entire responsibility of the vendors. The Auctioneers take no responsibility for the correctness of such statements or identities.
9. The Auctioneers act, as agents for the vendors and any action taken by the purchaser must be against the vendor and not against the Auctioneer, and “vice, versa”
10. Neither the vendors nor the Auctioneers will be responsible neither for any accident through fire or any other cause nor any damage done to the lot, during or after the sale.
11. If any of these conditions are unfulfilled, the vendors or the auctioneers shall have power to re-sell the lots, retaining any surplus and charging any deficiency and expense to the defaulter

VIEWING - The Sale Sheep will be available for inspection on farm on the morning of the sale. Prior Inspection of the sheep is most welcome by appointment with the vendors
CONDITIONS OF SALE - Sold under the conditions of sale subject to the Beltex Sheep Society and Badger Face Texel Sheep Society rules.
METHOD OF SALE - All sheep will be sold in Euros (€) and strictly in catalogue order, unless any alteration is announced by the Auctioneers. A Commission of 5.5% will be charged on all sheep sold.
COMMISSIONS - The Auctioneers will dutifully execute commissions to purchase for buyers unable to attend the sale personally, upon receipt of written instructions.
SETTLEMENT AND CLEARANCE OF STOCK - Settlement in full is due immediately at the close of Sale. No animal may leave the Sale Premises without an official ‘Pass Slip’, obtainable only from the Auctioneers upon settlement.

We would like to extend the warmest of welcomes to all who have travelled to Raphoe to attend our on farm sale, and to those following the sale via marteye.
The Ardstewart Beltex Flock was established in 1993 and has continued to progress successfully over the period of three decades. Our aim has always been to produce Beltex that are true to breed type and will appeal to both pedigree and commercial flocks. We are very selective on what stock is retained each year ensuring that quality remains consistently high.
Over the 32 years since we began, we have enjoyed tremendous success at shows throughout the country, and sales which at the outset were held in Portadown. We then progressed to attending the Society National Show & Sale in Carlisle and are honoured to have claimed the Supreme Championship here on three occasions. Ardstewart rams have been in demand, and we take great pride in noting that many prolific pedigree flocks have Ardstewart breeding in their prize-winning stock. Rams from our flock have reached heights of 16,000 guineas with many others selling at five figured sums. Gimmers from Ardstewart have reached 7500 guineas.
We are the current Champion Flock in the Irish Beltex Breeders Annual Flock Competition, a title we have won on several occasions.
The catalogue comprises of an unreserved selection of males and females from the heart of the Ardstewart flock. Our very best bloodlines and breeding families are well represented including many that we had planned to retain for breeding in our own flock.
In 2021 a small flock of Badger Face Texels was formed, and we have included a select offering within todays sale.
Having worked with all of the sheep close at hand over the last number of weeks, we feel that today’s catalogue is packed full of quality whether you require a new stock ram, or a fresh bloodline for your flock.
