ARCHITECTURE is a wonderful journey for me, that opened my eyes towards new feeling and thinking about the world.

I have started perceiving the space which is surrounding us differently and formulate a question for myself >how this space is influencing people and their lives?

Looking into the most basic routines of people´s everyday life and realizing that architecture is calmly observing it and sometimes influencing more that we are able or want to admit.

From my point of view, designing is very tricky work and I want to do this job responsibly. I´m willing to try fulfill expectations of people, but also the space.

U I E F R T The project started and ended in Sweden, but the main part was done and realized in Kisumu >KENYA, where we spent two months.

With a total space of 15 square meters, poor lighting condition and walls made out of thin plywood and metal sheets. 30 pupils are supposed to learn together with their teacher in these conditions.

This is how Schools located in Obunga, informal settlement in Kisumu, running their everyday classes. There is no doubt that the tight conditions limiting the student’s creativity and energy for learning.

The project is about school FURNITURE. How can influence the space and even behaviour of people around.

The proposal develops school desks that are aiming for a more ergonomic, social and equal space for learning.

The strained financial situation and limited space results in a poorly planned interior with heavily constructed furniture, bad lightning condition, walls made out of sheet metal as well as the roof. These conditions made us wondering, what can be improved by not so radical and manageable intervention, but still make a difference in terms of improving those statements and make the environment better for the people.

The aim of the project is followed by two solutions, short and long term.

The short term one is focusing on re:USING of old materials and spaces - giving them new values and perceptions.

After mapping different environments and interviewing stakeholders, we came up with an easy solution, which works with reusing material from old school desks. It models them into a more user friendly chair, which has several functions such as adjustability, flexibility, stackability and is more ergonomically suitable for the pupils. We also created an open source manual which does not require that much effort nor money for implementing this solution to diverse spaces.

The long term solution focuses on how to re:DESIGN the space in the classroom by usings a new shaped furniture which could more match with new learning method trends, where creativity and individual support for children are two key factors.

The work on the site was sometimes very hard, especially during the sunny days, but allowed us to connect with the environment of the school and we could let the future users >children, try the prototypes right away.

That fact helped us with the further development of the proposals and we spent an amazing time there.

A R H W T E P A T The project is a small intervention situated in Frihamnen, Gรถteborg.

The task of this architectural urban structure is to educate people about more sustainable solutions connected with WATER.

by Jubileumsparken, Frihamnen with whom we were cooperating and they are revitalizing and planning a big project of temporary residential housing in next few years in this area.

The WATER cycle plays a huge part towards the goal for a more sustainable future and that is why I chose to work with that.

The aim is to make people more interested in water, but not by pushing them into it. Instead of that, I want them to be curious by themselves and spontaneously reveal the interesting facts about the water, water cycle and how the water works in the nature.

Educate people in a non-invasive form, but make them think about the WATER and how it is important to treat it properly.

The process of analysing and mapping the area was very important for the project. That is why I have paid certain attention to do it right.

I have tried to perceived and mapped the site with my senses and feelings to achieve bigger succes for future visitors for connecting with the project.

The project is based on three main factors the rain WATER, EDUCATION and STRUCTURE. They are combined and made to influence each other to support the aim of this intervention.

The structure itself is representing a small landscape, which supposes to introduce the water cycle and how does it work in nature. It is displaying the part of water in our environment and how further can be used.

Also its creating a space for better understanding of the possibilities that the rain water offeres and how it can be used in the everyday life of people.

The process of analysing and mapping the area was inspired by diffrent mapping techniques based on better understanding of the environment and finding the best position for situating the project.

I was focusing on how people can perceive the site with their senses and feelings. Few basic parameters were chosen - view, sounds, light, safety, openness and then evaluated for the planned landscape. Which ones from the parameters are more suitable for which type of element in the nature - mount, lake, ocean. Then I tried to match them with a certain specifics of the landscape on site.

L I V I N G H O U S E This project is about residential housing and it is situated in the old industrial area in Michle, Prague.

It is a construction project designed for my Bachelor theses.

The proposal tries to meet two statements - a comfort for residents and the specific character of the place, where is situated. This area used to belong to one of the biggest gas production factories in Prague and has its unique spirit.

The building has shape as the letter L with two main volumes.

The first one is facing the view to the industrial area and in the first floor is situated cafe and studio work space.

The other one is situated more towards the green area behind the industrial park and obtains also spaces for sauna and common rooms for residents.

The second storey of this residential building has six apartments.

Three of them [120m2] contain a big living space and three bedrooms and two bathrooms, The other three [80m2] contains only one bedroom and big living space, which is connected with the kitchen.

S T A I R H O U S E This project is about residential housing in a very calm area situated on the outskirt of Prague in RuzynÄ›.

The aim was to design a nice place for living with a good access to an outside space. The block is surrounded by main building volumes to create a nice semi private - semi public inner space inside the site.

The proposal follows the shape of the block, where I was situating my design.

It consists from two main volumes. The first one, 3 storeys high building, is situated towards the entering street and is shaped as slowly stepping stairs. One unit consists of two different apartments.

One bigger (cca 90m2) and one small (cca 55m2). The big apartment in the first floor has its own entrance and has a characteristic of a small family house.

The second one is L shaped building with triangular art gallery inside. It is only 2 storyes high and contains big apartments.

The project is playing with different types of spaces, but all of them are mainly suited for human scale with focus on people.

The border between private and public in this case is very thin The house supports the break out, but still preserve some clean private spaces.

T R K P S A W S This project was a small construction try out made during one week.

It was a voluntary workshop for designing and building a model of STAIRS in scale of 1:1.

Everything started with a small competition between 4 studios in our school and the aim was to design and build a staircase from a certain amount of wood.

My studio Zavřel-Zdebskå proposed a simple design with a beautiful effect of different layers included in every step.

It was very nice to be part of a real project. To see, that not everything is always going as it was planned and that it is good to be prepared for it.

It taught me certain flexibility and preciseness.

The satisfaction after constructing the project was unbelievable, to see and be able to walk on it was really amazing.

S E A SERPENT W O R K S H O P The project is a small intervention situated in Frihamnen, GĂśteborg.

I was part of a construction project held during one week. We did a small internal competition in the studio and after 2 best projects were selected by committee from Jubileumsparken architects.

In the end, we actually build one of the design proposals together with three other students (RaphaĂŤlle Paire, John Borgen and David Scavo) plus two carpenters, who helped us put things together.

Cold weather nor hard work did not stop us to realize this project and we could celebrate a great success from the result of fully functional urban furniture.

It is amazing to se how the structure actually growing under the hands.
