2020 October Board Elections ELECTION PROCEDURE

You will receive your ballots in the mail with instructions. You will vote for (4) candidates. Ballots can be mailed to the chalet, dropped off at the chalet or turned in the morning of the Membership Meeting on October 19th. The verification envelope the ballots are returned in must be signed and the lot number or address listed.

RESTRICTIVE COVENANTS BALLOT

TLCA residents are also receiving a ballot to make the Restrictive Covenants permanent. Currently the covenants expire in 2043. The core governing documents of Tanglwood Lakes Community Association (TLCA) are the restrictive Steve Ruelke covenants that are incorporated into every TLCA property owner’s deed. All of the governing documents by which TLCA operates derive from these restrictions. These restrictions authorize the existence of Tanglwood Lakes Community Association, Inc., the legal entity that operates TLCA, the bylaws and the rules and regulations. Expiration of the covenants would lead to termination of the community as a legal entity and as an organizational structure. Without that structure, there would be no mechanism to maintain the Community and all of its assets, including the roads, the buildings, the equipment, or any of its amenities such as the beach area and the nature trail. Termination of the community would have an adverse impact on all property values within the community. The Board of Directors strongly urges every community member to vote in favor of making the restrictive covenants permanent. A separate mailing regarding changing the Restrictive Covenants to perpetuity has gone out to every resident. If you did not receive your ballot in the mail, you may pick it up in the Chalet. Those ballots may be returned by mail or in person to the Chalet. Two thirds of the total voting membership must approve the change. For this reason we need everyone to vote on the issue.
