The Brain Injury Association of New York State recently raised $25,000 from the first annual “March On For Brain Injury Walk” held at the Walkway Over the Hudson. The effort was led by Dr. Lois Tannenbaum, owner of L.I.F.E. Source Learning, Inc.

Orange Regional Medical Center was selected as a finalist to receive The Jeffrey Frank Wacks Music Therapy Program as part of the Livestrong® Community Impact Project, which was created to bring proven cancer support programs to communities across the US. Dolson Avenue Medical has been recognized by the Middletown Salvation Army for their involvement with the Angel Tree program, which helped 325 families during the holiday season. Mount Saint Mary College’s Relay for Life recently earned $47,300 for the American Cancer Society – topping last year’s total by nearly $10,000 – as a result of the efforts of students, faculty, staff and volunteers from the community. More than 400 members of nearly 40 teams took turns walking laps. Catholic Charities Community Services of Orange County recently raised more than $90,000 at their 8th annual Celebration of Charity awards dinner at Anthony’s Pier 9 in New Windsor. Brotherhood, America’s Oldest Winery, was recently named the Small Business Administration NYC District 2014 Small Business Exporter of the Year and is competing for national honors. Brotherhood will celebrate 175 years in business in the fall. Specialty performance ingredients maker Balchem Corp. recently agreed to acquire Performance Chemicals & Ingredients Co. for $567 million. Founded in 1967, Balchem provides state-of-the-art solutions and the finest quality products for a range of industries worldwide. The company consists of three business segments: ARC Specialty Products; Food, Pharma and Nutrition; and Animal Nutrition and Health. The Bruderhof Communities in New York, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Florida were recently recognized in the Congressional Record in honor of the 60th anniversary’ of the founding of Woodcrest, the first Bruderhof community in the U.S. Community Products, LLC, based in Rifton, is part of the Bruderhof community.
