This year, the National Institute on Nursing Research (NINR) will lead the 2023 NIH Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) under the leadership of NINR Director, Dr. Shannon Zenk. The CFC is the federal government’s largest workplace giving campaign, and an opportunity to support one or more of the 5,000 participating charities. The campaign began on September 1st and ends on January 15, 2024. The National CFC theme is “Give Happy” which highlights the power of giving together and how that brings happiness to people and communities in need. The CFC will be a virtual campaign again this year and will provide several opportunities to learn more about the CFC and to stay connected with NIH CFC activities. The goal for the NIH community this year is to exceed $1.2M and support the extraordinary work that charities continue to do in our local communities and abroad. Upcoming Events Giving Tuesday, November 28th - Giving Tuesday is considered the most important day for CFC charities. It marks the beginning of the holiday giving season and has become a global day of giving celebrated nationally on the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving, as a charitable response to Black Friday and Cyber Monday. This year, the CFC has over 5,000 charities working tirelessly to fulfill important missions that impact our communities and the world. In this season of thankfulness, please consider donating to your favorite cause or pledging volunteer hours with participating charities. The CFC’s goal is to make this the biggest giving day of the campaign. To donate, please visit the NIH CFC website to make your pledge today. As federal employees, we have an opportunity to support these charitable causes through our workplace giving drive, the CFC. Thanks for your willingness to help us change the world through the CFC and “Give Happy” to CFC causes that need our support. For more info about CFC, please contact Debra Gale, NIH CFC Program Manager or visit the NIH CFC website.
