Dear adults, Welcome to your Faith Family Fun discussion guide! Thank you for letting us join you as you encourage your little one(s) to experience the love of Jesus. We hope to offer an interactive and enjoyable way for your little one(s) to connect to the beautiful message of the Gospel.

As your little ones learn ways to show love and kindness with their Kids Night In Box, remind them of the way that God loves them: unconditionally. Loving others and showing kindness can be really hard sometimes, but it gets easier with God’s help! Encourage them to remember the fact that God loves us even when we don’t deserve it and that we should try to love others in the same way.

MEMORY VERSE: Matthew 5: 43-44 (ICB) “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemies.’ But I tell you, love your enemies.”

Discussion Pause for a moment and discuss the following questions with your little one(s): •

Does God love us even when we mess up or do something wrong?

Who does the memory verse say that we should love?

•

Who is a neighbor? Who is an enemy?

There is a special kind of love that we can have for others, and it’s called agape love. This means that we see everyone as God sees them.

Pretend that you have special glasses on and that you love everyone you see simply because God loves them. God wants us to love everybody! We should love God, love ourselves and love others!

Discussion Pause for a moment and discuss the following questions with your little one(s): •

Have you ever done something that God said not to do, like disobey your parents or lie? Did it make him stop loving you?

(Of course not!)

How can we love others the way that God loves us?

•

What is the special kind of love that means that we see others the way God sees them?

When we love others and show them kindness the way God does for us, it makes God very happy. Let’s reread our memory verse together!

Read Aloud Do you remember what your favorite toy was last year? Is it still your favorite, or have you found a new favorite? Sometimes our love for things doesn’t last very long. The neat thing about God’s love is that it’s not just a feeling; His love always remains the same. Sometimes when we’re upset with somebody, we feel like we don’t love them for a little while, but God’s love never changes, even when we disobey.

Dear God, Thank You for always loving us, even when we make mistakes! Thank You for never leaving us or abandoning us. Help us to remember to love others in the same way that You love us.
