Faith Family Fun

DEAR ADULTS , Welcome to your Faith Family Fun discussion guide! Thank you for letting us join you as you encourage your little one(s) to experience the love of Jesus. We hope to offer an enjoyable, interactive way for your little one(s) to connect to the beautiful message of the Gospel. As your little one(s) becomes a scientist with their Kids Night In Box, we want to make the connection that God is the greatest scientist of all. God created the entire universe and was very strategic about each detail of His creation. Without God, there would be no science at all!

MEMORY VERSE: GENESIS 1:1-2 “In the beginning God created the sky and the earth. The earth was empty and had no form. Darkness covered the ocean, and God’s Spirit was moving over the water.”

READ ALOUD In our memory verse, we learn that God created the sky and the Earth. He is the ultimate creator of the planet that we call home. Close your eyes. What do you see? Darkness! Nothing! This is how Earth looked at the very beginning of creation: empty and dark. There was absolutely nothing—except for God. If you keep reading Genesis, in Chapter 1, you will discover how the Earth transformed from emptiness and nothingness to a planet filled with life. It was all done by the ultimate creator, God Himself. Genesis tells us that God created light, sky, land, plants, stars, the sun, the moon, animals and human beings. He created all of these things in just 6 days. That is pretty amazing! On the 7th day, God rested and enjoyed all of His creations.

DISCUSSION Pause for a moment and discuss the following questions with your little one(s): •

In what ways is God similar to scientists?

•

In what ways is God different from scientists? (He can create things from nothing!)

•

What are some of the things God created?

•

How many days did it take God to create everything?

•

What do you think the world would be like without God’s creations?

God created the world to give us life and to share His story. He wants as many people as possible to learn about Him and His love. It is our job as His followers to help spread His story and love to as many people as we can.

DISCUSSION Pause for a moment and discuss the following questions with your little one(s): •

How can we TELL others about God’s love and who He is?

•

How can we SHOW others God’s love?

•

How can we show appreciation for all of God’s creations?

Let’s say our memory verse one more time.

MEMORY VERSE: GENESIS 1:1-2 “In the beginning God created the sky and the earth. The earth was empty and had no form. Darkness covered the ocean, and God’s Spirit was moving over the water.”

Now, let’s pray together: Dear God, thank You for being the ultimate creator and bringing so much life to Earth. Help give me the courage and knowledge to spread Your love to as many people as I can. I love you, and thank You for loving me. Amen.
