SET THE MOOD To begin your stay at Date Night In Resort, set up a space where you can enjoy your date together. We encourage you to really get into the ‘resort’ mindset. Change into your best beach or lounge clothes. Hang up your included door hanger & set out your included resort lotion. Maybe even lay out some beach towels and pack a cooler if you are up for it! TABLE TALKRECHARGING YOURSELF Whenever you experience a romantic getaway with the one you love, the focus is usually on enjoying each other’s company and having a good time. Time to focus on each other is crucial in any healthy relationship. Many times getaways are used to recharge yourself - to take a break from all the craziness that is life.

We want to encourage you both to make time in your everyday lives for recharging, whatever that means for you.

Being able to take care of your mental and emotional health is crucial for having a healthy relationship. Of course you should lean on one another during hard times, but you cannot place the responsibility of your well-being on your partner. It can be so easy to get caught up in the stress of life, but by actively working to keep yourself healthy you can be more present in your relationship.

We realize that this can be easier said than done. To keep it simple, we want to give you two concepts to focus on when it comes to recharging yourself - self care

and self love. Although these two concepts sound extremely similar, they are actually quite different. Self care means taking care of yourself physically and mentally.

This means keeping yourself healthy and keeping your mind in a good place. Self love, on the other hand, means showing yourself kindness. If you are able to keep yourself healthy and love yourself, then you will have more energy and love to pour into your partner. Whenever you are both pouring love into each other AND yourselves, the bond in your relationship is bound to grow.

Read the tips below for practicing self care and self love in your everyday lives. Think about and discuss what each tip would look like practically for you individually.

SELF CARE Taking Alone Time Taking alone time in a relationship helps you maintain your sense of self. This gives you a chance to check in with your emotional state while keeping your needs a priority, and, in turn, making you your best self.

Creating Boundaries Be sure to be open when it comes to communicating your needs and/or wants with one another. Discussing boundaries and what things make you uncomfortable is a great way to make sure you are both on the same page.

This goes back to making sure you make your needs a priority and then communicating these needs with your partner.

Unplug In the digital world we live in today, it can be so easy to get caught up in social media, TV series, news outlets, and so much more. Taking time to unplug from technology can also be a self care technique. Sometimes being too in touch with the world around us can have negative effects. Take time to rest your mind and be in touch with yourself.

SELF LOVE Recognize Your Feelings Being in touch with your feelings means taking time to check in with yourself. Allow yourself time to analyze the emotions you have and accept these emotions. Recognizing and expressing the way you feel will strengthen the compassion you have for yourself and for your partner.

Make Time for Your Interests Your passions, interests, or hobbies should absolutely not be pushed to the back burner when you are in a relationship. Make sure to keep your interests alive and make time for them - even if it is something as small as once a month. By making time to do things you enjoy you are refueling yourself and will be more motivated to focus on and contribute to your relationship.

Expressing Love to Yourself A final tip for practicing self love is to physically express the love you have for yourself. This could be through positive affirmations, journaling, or even buying or doing small things for yourself. Being able to truly love yourself starts in your mind - believing it and expressing it.

COUPLES YOGA SESSION The first excursion we have for you during your resort stay is couples yoga. This activity will focus on relaxation and trust. While completing this activity, we want to encourage you to trust your partner completely. Trust them enough to let your mind and body fully open up to a place of zen. Trust them enough to allow yourself outside of your comfort zone if needed. Placing your trust in your partner will better allow you to reap all the benefits that come from couples yoga.

ROOM SERVICE Room service has arrived! Enjoy your red velvet biscotti and Bigelow tea. Use this as a time to just relax and enjoy each other’s company - and the deliciousness of biscotti!

PICTIONARY The next activity on your resort itinerary is a tropical version of pictionary. The purpose of this exercise is to work on cooperation as a couple while having some lighthearted fun. Games are a great way to get your mind off of stress. This game is sure to bring out some laughs and maybe a little bit of frustration. Remember to work together and we hope you enjoy!

HOW TO PLAY: Begin by separating your pictionary cards into 5 piles based on the category. The 5 categories are: Vacation Excursions, Fun in the Sun, Things at a Resort, Vacation Accessories, and Romance. Be sure to keep the cards face down while you are separating them.

Play a quick game of rock, paper, scissors to decide who goes first! Player 1 will begin with the whiteboard and dry erase marker. Choose a category and pick up a card from that pile. Without letting your partner see the card, draw the item listed. Once your partner successfully guesses the drawing, move the card to the ‘completed’ pile.

Then, it’s Player 2’s turn to pick a card and draw!

Repeat this until you have finished all the cards.

Remember, the goal of this game is cooperation, not competition. You are not working against each other, but, instead, working together. The goal of the game is to get all of the cards drawn and guessed in under 30 minutes. Do you think you can

do it?! Set your timer and get started!

DATE NIGHT IN RESORT SPA We are going to end your stay at Date Night In Resort with a visit to the spa. Your spa treatment will begin with a couples massage. Kick your couples massage off by spending 5-10 minutes giving each other a relaxing massage with your included lotion. Next, locate your massage sheet. On this sheet are three types of massages presented by Cara Perez, LMT, MFR of Jade Massotherapy. She shares these easy moves that will help romantic partners feel their best and maintain intimacy. Take turns giving each of the three massages to one another. Take your time, relax your soul, and give your partner your best.

Once you have completed the massage portion, it’s time to bring out your included spa face masks. Pin your hair away from your face and remove any makeup you may have on. Mix your French Clay Facial Powder with equal parts water (or to desired thickness) for a deep facial cleanse that will leave you feeling fresh and clean. Take your time applying your face masks. To build intimacy, we suggest taking turns applying each other’s face masks. Continue to the next section and reflect on your date while you let your face masks sit. Face masks should be rinsed off once they begin to dry.
