❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊ As I have done every month over❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊ the last 5 years, when I write this editorial I ❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊ think about how quickly these months, these 5 years have gone.

We have spent ❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊ another season together... thank you ❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊ everyone, I hope to be here for another 5 ❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊ years. I want to remind you that we are preparing a new Winter Edition Ibiza / ❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊ Miami and that you are always the ❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊ strength of this magazine.

I also wanted to thank those who lately have not been ❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊ kind to us (and probably to others), this ❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊ makes us stronger but sometimes it’s really annoying. Name: Magda, Marc Houle and Troy Pierce Where are you from?: Magda: Oh, many places! I was born in Poland, grew up in Detroit and now I live in Berlin.

Marc: Born in Windsor, Canada, and I also live in Berlin.

Troy: Munice, Indiana, USA. Connection with Ibiza: We’ve been coming here for over ten years and it’s a very unique place. The party culture, the island is so beautiful, the food is great...

We have had some really magical moments through the years.

When and how did you start DJing?: Looong time ago, in 1997, just as a hobby.

Marc: Actually I don’t DJ, I play live. I started 6 years ago.

Troy: I started in 1994 I guess, but didn’t really get serious until I moved to New York and started buying a lot of records there and practicing in my dorm room.

We know that you just separated from m-nus, starting your own project. How did you get together?:

Magda: I had a project with Marc some years ago and he met Troy and in the end the three of us made this project together called “Run stop restore”.

Troy: We met in Detroit through mutual friends and I think basically we cracked each other up in weird ways so our friendship grew from there.

Tell us something about your new project “Items & things”: It is an outlet for music we get on our travels, big hits, strange demos we like, something completely different that we think “needs to be heard”. The decision happened slowly over time, some things fell into place more recently that made it seem like the right time to make a change.

Name some of the artists you most admire: Magda and Marc: Kraftwerk, so talented and inspiring.

Troy: William Bazinski, Portishead and Joy Division.

Your favourite place in the world: Magda: Definitely Japan.

Marc: To live Berlin, to visit Japan and to retire to Canada.

Troy: Maui, Hawaii.

Troy: Creo que en 1994, aunque me puse en serio cuando me mudé a Nueva York y empecé a comprar un montón de discos y a practicar en mi habitación.

Sabemos que os acabáiis de separar del sello m-nus para empezar un proyecto vuestro. ¿Cómo os juntasteis?: Magda: Hace unos años colaboré con Marc, después él conoció a Troy y al final los tres juntos empezamos un proyecto llamado “Run stop restore”.

Troy: Nos conocimos en Detroit a través de amigos comunes y creo que nos chocamos de maneras raras, de ahí se desarrolló nuestra amistad.

Contadnos alg go sobre vuestro nuevo proyecto “Items & things”: Es una salida para la música que recogemos en nuestros viajes, grandes éxitos, demos raros que nos gustan, cosas muy distintas que pensamos deberían ser escuchadas. Tardamos tiempo en tomar la decisión, algunas cosas se aclararon recientemente y nos pareció el momento adecuado para cambiar.

Algunos de los artistas que más admiráis: Magda y Marc: Kraftwerk, muy talentosos e inspiradores.

Magda, you’re going to play at Time Warp in Italy, is this a special date for you?: I’m really looking forward to Time Warp Italy because every year at Time Warp in Germany there are lots of Italian fans and they make it special.

What do you think about the Italian music culture?: My first Italian tour was a real disaster in every way, but very quickly after that the music really caught on and people have been supportive of our music for so long, so it’s always a great time playing in Italy. Now we have two Italian artists on Items & things, Madato and Danny Benedettini, who will be joining us in our Down & Out parties.

Yousef

Name: Where are you originally from?: Liverpool, UK. Connection with Ibiza: I’ve been coming to Ibiza since 1997. I’ve been playing at all the clubs during my career here, at Space, Pacha, Amnesia and DC 10 for years; but am now a resident at Space for Carl Cox on Tuesdays at Revolution.

When and how did you start DJing?: I started DJing when I was about 17 through a love of hip hop and electronic music. In 1997 I won a DJ competition in Muzik Magazine. I then got residencies at Ministry of Sound, Renaissance and Cream in the UK, and was signed to a major DJ agency. Since then I’ve begun my own event - Circus in Liverpool - where I invite the world’s best DJs to play for me (Villalobos, Hawtin, Dice, Cox, Sasha, Troxler, Vath, Beyer and Squillace have all played this year already in Liverpool at the club).

How would you define your style?: It’s house music and techno and electronic music with black roots. I regularly release my music on Cocoon, Saved, Monique Musique, Intec and my own Circus Recordings label too. My last release was Yousef Circus Reworks, where I remixed Sven Väth, Fourtet, Santos, Gilles Peterson, Moby, Kaiserdisco, BPA/Jamie T and my own Come Home.

Nic Fanciulli

Name: Where are you originally from?: I am from the UK, my dad is from Rome and my mum is from London.

I was born in England, lived in Kenya (Africa), then in Italy and finally back to England.

Connection with Ibiza: I have been traveling to Ibiza since I was 17. First, I started on the dancefloor and now I’m in the DJ booth.

Do you remember your first time in Ibiza?: Yes, I do.

The first time I was 17 and I went to Space. It was a Tuesday morning, I went to the Manumission party and stayed awake for 3 or 4 days.

And what about the first time you DJed on the island?: It was at Pacha with Deep Dish.

When and how did you start in the music industry?: I am from a small town called Maidstone, just outside London, and we used to have a local club and each week they had guests like Carl Cox, Sasha and John Digweed. I used to give tapes to the promoter every week and finally he listened to them. He invited me to play and I became a resident.

As a producer, what has been your biggest achievement?: I think the remix I did for Tiefschwarz with Tracey Thorn because we got nominated for a Grammy.

What is your favourite club in the world?: The Room in Tokyo and Space in Ibiza.

Your plans for this summer: We’re doing Carl Cox and friends on Tuesday at Space, and I’m also playing in Italy, Portugal and other countries in Europe.

Name: Where are you from?: Vilanova i la Geltrú, Barcelona.

Connection with Ibiza: Working in music and radio since 1989.

Tell us about the Ibiza Global Radio Tour, where are you going this year?: We have received several proposals and the brand is consolidating, now it is a widely known and highly exportable product. We have been to Venezuela, the UK, Switzerland and some other countries.

Here on the island you DJ at the best clubs and on Ibiza Global Radio, how fa ar do you want to go?: This job is my lifestyle, so I try to improve and enjoy what I do to maintain the hope that I had on the first day.

Who are your favourite DJ’s now? And among the emerging ones?: It’s hard to mention one in particular because there are excellent new DJ’s and those who are already known. Anyone who plays good music and surprises me with their technique will be my favourite DJ at that moment.

Projects for winter 2011 - 2012: At the moment I am focused on this summer and the September 9th festival on Talamanca beach with great DJ’s to celebrate the 20th anniversary of ibizadance. On September 6 th I also DJ with Carl Cox (Space), collaborate with Luciano’s Café Vagabundos and every Wednesday I am resident with Cristian Varela at Eden. In addition, I’ve just launched the track Looking for the place with Toni Moreno. In winter I’ll have a holiday and tour with ibizadance and ibizaglobalradio.

DAVID MORENO mejorar y disfrutar de lo que hago manteniendo la ilusión como si fuese el primer día. ¿Cuáles son tu djs favoritos ahora mismo? ¿y entre los emergentes?: Es difícil decir uno, hay gente nueva buenísima y los grandes que ya se saben cuales son y a partir de ahí es cuestión de gustos. Todo aquel que ponga buena música y me sorprenda con la técnica será mi DJ favorito en cada momento.

Proyectos para el invierno 2011 - 2012: De momento pienso en el verano y el festival del 9 de septiembre en la Playa de Talamanca con grandes DJ para celebrar los 20 años de ibizadance. También pincharé el 6 de septiembre en la fiesta de Carl Cox (Space), colaboro con Café Vagabundos de Luciano y estoy de residente con Cristian Varela los miércoles en Eden.

Ademas, acabamos de lanzar el tema Looking for the place junto a Toni Moreno. En invierno algo de vacaciones y la gira de ibizadance e ibizaglobalradio.

El Hornet

Name: Where are you originally from?: Perth, Western Australia.

What is your connection with Ibiza?: Over the last 3 seasons I’ve been playing Dj sets on the Terrace at Space Club for the Carl Cox night ‘Revolution’ and also at Eden for Ibiza Rocks.

When and how did you starrt your music career?: In the late 90’s I played drums in a punkrock band in Australia, and at the same time I started to DJ at clubs and rave parties in my hometown. Things got really serious when I met Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen and Pendulum was born.

Why are you called “El Hornet”?: It’s a nickname I’ve had for such a long time! It’s a long story but I used to be known as ‘The Brown Hornet’ and had to make it shorter! mer in Ibiza?: Where and when are you playing this summ This summer I’m playing exclusively at Space. On Fridays I’m doing a residency at Come Together and I will also play at Carl’s Revolution night on my birthday in September!

Your best spot in Ibiza: My favourite places on the island are the ones where there is no other people! It’s great to relax and just enjoy the island itself.

Your favourite club: Too many! Obviously I LOVE Space in Ibiza but some other places I really enjoy playing are Voyeur in San Diego, Beta in Denver, Webster Hall in NYC, Fabric in London, Metropolis in Perth, HQ in Adelaide, The Melkweg in Amsterdam and Row 14 in Barcelona.

Nombre: ¿De dónde eres?: De Perth, en el oeste de Australia.

Conexión con Ibiza: En las últimas 3 temporadas he pinchado en la Terraza de Space para la fiesta ‘Revolution’ de Carl Cox y también en Eden para Ibiza Rocks. ¿Dónde y cómo empezaste tu carrera musical?: Al final de los 90 tocaba la batería en una banda de punkrock en Australia, y al mismo tiempo empecé a pinchar en clubs y raves en mi ciudad. Las cosas se hicieron más serias cuando conocí a Rob Swire y Gareth McGrillen y creamos Pendulum. ¿Por qué te lllamas “El Hornet”?: ¡Es un apodo que me dieron hace muchísimo tiempo! Es una historia muy larga, me solían llamar ‘The Brown Hornet’ y ¡tuve que abreviarlo! ¿Dónde y cuándo pincharás este verano en Ibiza?: Este verano pincharé exclusivamente en Space. Los viernes soy residente en Come Together y también pincharé en la fiesta Revolution de Carl el día de mi cumpleaños en septiembre.

Tu lugar favorito en Ibiza: En la isla prefiero los sitios donde no hay nadie. Es genial relajarse y disfrutar de la isla, sin más.

Tu club favorito: ¡Demasiados! Name: Where are you from?: Milán.

Connection with Ibiza: Nature and music worldwide.

Why did you decide to move to the white island?: I needed more space to express my sound, the city (Milan) started to seem small with all its rules, schedules, the neighbours who couldn’t stand me any longer... So my partner Maurizio and I decided to move to Ibiza.

When n did you start DJing and when did you decide you wanted to be DJ?: I started at 12, my parents used to organize dinners and parties at home and let me put music (vinyls and tapes) on until midnight.

Where can we enjoy your music this summer?: Every year I am invited to several 3-day open air festivals, like Sonic in Montenegro, Sol Festival and in Greece.

Here in Ibiza I DJ at private parties in villas, like last June when we celebrated the anniversary of Soundpharm and also the collaboration with Butterfly Scream in July.

A dream to fulfil: Go to the moon or visit the Pleiadians.

The best sunset: In Tanzania or sailing to the north.

7 DAYS AND 7 NIGHTS OF TOTAL FASTING IN AN ATLANTIS CAVE Dedicated to our friend Rasputin I have a lot to say about the 7 days and 7 nights camping in a cave, but I will focus on an anecdote from the beginning of the adventure I had with my friend Dani Dorado.

Loaded with 60 litres of water, bags and some basic tools, we walked down the famous Atlantis hill. My aim was to find one of the most hidden coves and we had to find Rasputin, a hippy famous for his bad temper. Dani, who knows the hippies of Aguas Blancas, knew where to find him. We arrived at the famous “Raspu” cave and found a tall, wiry man with his head shaved and tattoos all over his back. He was inside the cove and was not happy that we broke his meditation and silence.

Since he was taken by surprise, he jumped and banged his head on one of the ledges. It was quite something seeing his very angry bloody face shouting: “OUT OF MY MOUNTAIN!”. I had to do something to calm him down, so he told us: “You can’t stay with me but... I have a cave for my guests!”. He showed us a small cave, strategically hidden and with a privileged location offering wonderful views of Atlantis bay. Although I slept with a knife in my hand because I was scared, the experience is documented by these photos that explain more than a thousand words can.

7 DIAS Y 7 NOCHES DE AYUNO TOTAL EN UNA CUEVA DE ATLANTIS “Dedicado a nuestro amigo Rasputín” 7 días y 7 noches acampados en una cueva dan para mucho, pero me voy a centrar en la anécdota del inicio de la aventura que tuve con mi amigo, Dani Dorado.

ción era buscar una de las cuevas más escondidas y para ello era necesario encontrar a Rasputín, un hippie famoso por su mal humor. Dani, que conoce los hippies de Aguas Blancas, sabía dónde encontrarlo. Llegamos a la famosa cueva de “Raspu” y encontramos a un hombre alto, fibrado, cabeza afeitada, tatuajes por toda la espalda. Él estaba dentro y no le hizo ninguna ilusión que rompiéramos su meditación y silencio. Al no esperarnos se sobresaltó y se dio un cabezazo con uno de los salientes. Fue impresionante verle enfadadísimo con la cara ensangrentada gritándonos: “¡FUERA DE MI MONTAÑA!”. Tuve que hacer algo para que se calmara, entonces nos dijo: “Conmigo no os podéis quedar pero... ¡tengo una cueva donde duermen mis invitados cuando vienen a verme!”. Nos mostró una pequeña cueva, estratégicamente escondida con una orientación privilegiada y vistas impresionantes a la bahía de Atlantis. Aunque no dormí tranquilo cuchillo en mano, la experiencia queda documentada en estas fotos que explican más que mil palabras.

Acrobati-k Names: Carol Brest and Nicolas Segreti.

Where are you from?: Carol: I was born in Argentina, but I’ve lived in Ibiza since I was a child.

Nico: I’m Argentinean, from the province of Mendoza.

Relationship with the island: Carol: To me Ibiza is my house, my life, my home.

Nico: I’ve lived in Spain for ten years and discovered the island five years ago. I got drawn in by Ibiza.

What is Acrobati-k?: We are a contemporary circus company; everything we do comes from our passion for circus, from a fresh, up to date and careful point of view, and we try to create fusion and to innovate.

When and how w did this project start?: In 2008, when we met and started this adventure, although it really started a long time before. We began an artistic collaboration with the promoting agency MADE IN ITALY. ACROBATIK was born from two artists’ desire to grow, their willingness to show their work and to make it big.

Where can we see your performances in Ibiza?: Every week from Wednesday to Sunday you can find us at EDEN, Thursdays at USHUAIA IBIZA BEACH HOTEL, Sundays at PACHA VAGABUNDOS, Friday nights at ATZARÓ AGROTURISMO and two nights a week at KANYA, during the pre-parties of TWICE AS NICE and JUDGMENT SUNDAYS. Also, we usually collaborate with NASSAU BEACH CLUB during its PINK PARTY. It’s exhausting!

Marina Ibiza débuts its new facilities

Marina Ibiza débuts facilities with capacity for large boats and a wide choice of leisure and lifestyle amenities, thus becoming a “catwalk” for megayachts and clients from every corner of the globe. The Balearic Islands Por t Authority has already approved the alterations to Marina Ibiza’s facilities carried out between January 2009 and May 2011, which have made the marina the most attractive in the Mediterranean. Amongst the new features is a reduction in the number of berths from 536 to 379 to make room for a greater number of large boats and thus meet the growing demand for berths for superyachts.

The presence of large boats in Marina Ibiza confirms the marina’s prime position as one of the most attractive in the Mediterranean for the world’s most advanced boats. Thereby, and following the recent alterations to its facilities, Marina Ibiza has become an ideal “catwalk” for boats where one can admire magnificent works of art remarkable for their naval design and technology.

Following the alterations, Marina Ibiza has some of the Mediterranean’s most avantgarde facilities, with berthside refuelling points for boats over 20 metres in length and convenient wooden “fingers” for getting to and from smaller boats. There is also a Dry Dock for overwintering, repairing and refitting up to 110 boats of between 5 and 8 metres in length. Marina Ibiza’s manager points out that the marina Ågis the first and only harbour in the Balearic Islands to provide this systemÅh.

La Autoridad Portuaria de Baleares ya ha dado el visto bueno a las obras de remodelación de las instalaciones de Marina Ibiza, ejecutadas entre enero de 2009 y mayo de 2011, y que convierten al puerto deportivo en el más atractivo del Mediterráneo.

Entre las novedades, destaca la reducción del número de amarres de 536 a 379 para dar cabida a mayor número de grandes esloras y satisfacer así la creciente demanda de amarres para superyates.

La presencia de grandes barcos en Marina Ibiza confirma la proyección del puerto deportivo como uno de los más atractivos del Mediterráneo para las embarcaciones más punteras del mundo. De este modo, y tras la reciente remodelación de sus instalaciones, Marina Ibiza se ha convertido en una pasarela ideal para contemplar magníficas obras de arte del diseño y la tecnología naval.

Tras las obras de remodelación, Marina Ibiza cuenta con una de las instalaciones más vanguardistas del Mediterráneo, con suministro de combustible en el punto de amarre para los barcos de más de 20 metros de eslora y cómodos fingers de madera para acceder a las embarcaciones más pequeñas.

Además, cuenta con una Marina Seca para el hibernaje, reparación y mantenimiento de 110 barcos de entre 5 a 8 metros. El gerente de Marina Ibiza apunta que el puerto deportivo Åges el primer y único puer to de Baleares que ofrece este sistemaÅh.

Carlos León Tejero

Name: Carlos León Tejero Where are you from?: Madrid.

Relationship with the island: I live and work as a photographer in Ibiza.

Tell us how you started in the world off photography: I studied audio-visual studies and worked in different production companies in Madrid. I used to come to Ibiza every summer and in 1995 decided to take my camera and take pictures of the most extravagant people of Ibiza nightlife.

How has your work evolved throughout the years?: The evolution of my work depends on my own evolution.

After 16 years working with the major DJ’s and promoters on the island (F** I`m Famous, Subliminal, Supermartxé, Manumission, La Troya, Matinée, Circo Loco, etc.), and with an archive of more than 200.000 images, I’m now in a more personal phase making artistic photography.

You are one of the most known photographers on the white island. What are the characteristics which define your photography?: I have always enjoyed capturing movement and backstage during parties.

Ho ow has the landscape of the island changed? And what about the people?: The island has changed a lot, although it is still a meeting point for all people with a free spirit.

What attracts you most to Ibiza?: Its unique rhythm!

Your next project: I’m preparing exhibitions of my new artistic work that you can see in Madrid, Venice and Miami next fall.

A place where you always enjoy taking pictures: India.

Cuéntanos cómo empezaste en el mundo de la fotografía: Estudié audiovisuales y trabajé en diferentes productoras en Madrid. Yo venía a ibiza cada verano y fue en el año 1995 cuando decidí colgarme una cámara fotográfica para retratar a los personajes más extravagantes de las noches de Ibiza.

¿Cómo ha ido evolucionando tu trabajo en los años?: Creo que la evolución de mi trabajo es fruto de mi propia evolución. Después de 16 años trabajando con los DJ y promotores más importantes de la isla (F** I`m Famous, Subliminal, Supermartxé, Manumission, La Troya, Matinée, Circo Loco, etc.), y con un archivo de más de 200.000 imágenes, me encuentro actualmente en una etapa más personal realizando fotografía artística.

En la isla blanca eres uno de los fotógrafos más conocidos.. ¿Cuáles son las características que definen tu fotografía?: Lo que siempre me ha gustado captar es el movimiento y el backstage de las fiestas. ¿Cómo ha cambiado la isla desde el pu unto de vista del paisaje? ¿Y la gente?: La isla ha cambiado mucho, pero sigue siendo un punto de encuentro para toda la gente que tiene un espíritu libre. ¿Qué es lo que más te atrae de Ibiza?: ¡Su ritmo único!

Tu próximo proyeecto: Estoy preparando exposiciones de mi nuevo trabajo artístico que se podrán ver en Madrid, Venecia y Miami el próximo otoño.

Save energy and have dinner at La Scalinatella on the Figueretas promenade, where the lovely Luca (G Bar at Pacha) invites us to try his excellent Italian cuisine.

Then a little further away you can have lunch or just a drink at Fusion (or its extension La Cabaña). The owner Jean Louis is waiting for you with a smile on his face.

From Figueretas we move on to San Rafael: last month we mentioned the Elephant, today we have dinner at El Ayoun, so you have to dress for the occasion. The cuisine is divine, Charles must have a secret...

Now we go back to town, to Dalt Villa. Have you been to El Olivo and, a little further away, La Oliva? We recommend booking in advance. Last month we mentioned La Bodiguera where we have been several times because the food is very good. Bruno and Paola together with their team take care of you throughout the year.

We have also been to Snakeman’s Gusto Gusto (Avenida de España). His specialty is great Italian pasta made using a new procedure that preserves the flavours. You can eat there or at home thanks to a fast delivery service.

You can eat very well in Ibiza and if you do not want to go home a few kilos heavier, you’d better dance a lot during the closing parties! See you next year!

También fuimos al Gusto Gusto (en Avenida de España) de Snakeman. Su especialidad es una excelente pasta italiana hecha con un procedimiento nuevo que conserva los sabores. La podéis probar allí o cómodamente en vuestra casa gracias a un rápido servicio a domicilio.

Names: Fabio, Simone, Luca and Michele Where are you from?: Terni, a small town 100 kilometres from Rome. It’s very different from Ibiza but really nice, quiet and green. We live very well here but sometimes we need to go back to our hometown, especially to see our family and friends.

In summer you’re in Ibiza, but what about the winter?: In winter some of us usually go to Italy and others travel around the world.

What are yo our jobs?: Michele works in the kitchen, Luca is in charge of the pizzas, while Fabio and Simone serve tables.

When did you open Ciao Ciao?: On May 26th, 2007.

Opening hours: We are open from 12pm to 2-3am, from late May to late October.

What specialties do you offer your cllients?: It’s hard to name just a few dishes, we believe customers have to try them and choose their favourites. Among the pizzas, one of our favourites is the Regina. Also the Mediterranean salad (with vegetables and buffalo mozzarella) is very successful. However, everything we prepare is of high quality. We always use very high quality Umbria oil, and we make the dough and fresh pasta every day.

Ciao Ciao is the ideal place for...: Ciao Ciao is a cozy place that offers quality dishes. It is ideal if you’re in a hurry and want to eat in 10 minutes or if you prefer to eat quietly, sipping a fine wine.

Nombres: Fabio, Simone, Luca y Michele ¿De dónde sois?: De Terni, una ciudad pequeña a 100 kilómetros de Roma. Algo muy distinto a Ibiza pero una ciudad muy agradable y tranquila, muy verde. Aquí vivimos muy bien pero de vez en cuando hace falta volver, sobre todo para ver a la familia y los amigos.

En verano estáis en Ibiza y ¿en invierno?: En invierno algunos de nosotros se van a Italia y otros de viaje por el mundo.

Las mansiones de cada un no: Michele en cocina, Luca en pizzeria, Fabio y Simone en sala. ¿Cuándo abristeis el local?: El 26 de mayo de 2007.

Horario de apertura: Estamos abiertos desde las 12 del mediodía hasta las 2-3 de la noche, desde finales de mayo hasta finales de octubre. ¿Qué especialidades ofrecéis a vuestros clientes?: Es difícil nombrar solo algunos platos, creemos que es el cliente quien tiene que probarlos y elegir sus favoritos.

Entre las pizzas, una de las favoritas es la pizza Regina.

También la ensalada mediterránea (con varios tipos de verduras y mozzarella de búfala) tiene mucho éxito. Sin embargo, hay calidad en todo lo que preparamos. Siempre utilizamos aceite de Umbría, de calidad muy elevada, la masa y la pasta fresca la hacemos todos los días.

Ciao Ciao es el sitio ideal para...: Ciao Ciao es un local acogedor que ofrece platos de calidad. Es ideal si tienes prisa y quieres comer en 10 minutos o si prefieres comer tranquilamente, bebiendo un buen vino.

Advantages and disadvantages of being a female entrepreneur: I have the chance to always be active because every day there are things to look for, new businesses opportunities and to be in the market with new products that the competition doesn’t have. My life is almost 100% focused on my work... but I love it!

Why did you start your business?: The truth is that I found it on my way and always really enjoyed it.

What attracts you most about Ibiza?: The island itself and the people.

Amsterdam Dance Event reveals first festival acts The leading names in the International DJ scene confirmed for Amsterdam in October The Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) has just released the first selection of confirmed artists that are scheduled for the upcoming edition. The sixteenth edition of the ADE, which takes place from 19 to 22 October, promises to be the biggest to date with a varied and extensive international programming in a record breaking 52 venues around Amsterdam. In the past sixteen years the ADE has become the most important showcase festival and conference for electronic music in the world.

Headlines for the next edition include Grammy Award winner Afrojjack (NL), who scored a number one hit in America recently, the world tour of Richie Hawtin’s (CA) new Plastikman 1.5 show superstar David Guetta (FR), techno legend Carl Cox (US) and the current number one DJ in the world Armin van Buuren (NL).

The Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) is the leading electronic music conference and the world’s biggest club festival for electronic music. The event offers a unique blend of daytime conferences, including interactive workshops, technical demonstrations and in-depth round-table discussions, alongside a nighttime music festival which takes place in 52 venues around the city. Name: Emanuel Cape and Ashkan Ahmadi.

What is Capadi?: A mixture of mine and Ashkan’s surnames.

Where are you from?: From Germany, although Emanuel is half Italian and Ashkan was born in Iran.

Where did the idea come from to start having parties on a boat?: The first couple of years we were working for an unimportant company organizing boat parties, but they had no real DJs, no entertainment, no dancers and people were always complaining. We started to think that we could do this much better and why not just start something and give people what they want?

What is the difference between your boat parties and other boat parties?: We put a lot of passion and heart in it, we have great DJ’s, spread a lot of gifts like Rebelcondoms, balloons, pins and other gadgets that the people nowadays always have on their minds.

Why the name “R Rebels”?: We think that everybody who comes to Ibiza has something in common: they want to change their lives and their way of thinking. Everybody who comes to Ibiza is a rebel!

Which music can we listen to on the boat?: Mostly deep German underground music. We have really talented resident and guest DJs like Yaya, Mike Väth, Johnny D. and we will host a party for the famous Club Romy S. from Stuttgart.

Where can we see the Rebels if not on the bo oat?: You can also come to our “Capadi Rebel Beach Revolt” party at Delano Beach Club every Wednesday in Playa d’en Bossa.

In addition, this winter we’re going to start our Rebels European tour.

Vuestra conexión con Ibiza: Llegamos en 2007 y trabajamos como promotores. Solo queríamos disfrutar de la isla y pasarlo bien. ¿De dónde nació la idea de organ nizar fiestas en barco?: Los primeros dos años trabajamos para una empresa poco importante que organizaba fiestas en barco pero no había DJ de verdad, entretenimiento, bailarines y la gente siempre se quejaba. Names: Sara Muhammad and Corina Smith Where are you originally from?: London, England.

Connection with Ibiza: Sara: Corina introduced me to the Island in 2008 after travelling together in India when we first spoke of Ibiza.

Corina: First visited the island in 1995 and knew I would be spending a lot of my life here.

When and how did you come up with thee idea of Smack?: After our girly holiday in 2008. We believed we could bring our 10 years of expertise and experience in London to Ibiza.

What do you offer to your clients?: Not only do we offer makeup & hair, we are a service. Personal, professional and experienced. We work in shooting advertising campaigns, fashion shows, at Atzaro and also for private clients on boats and in villas.

Why did you chose to start a business in Ibiza?: We realized there was no real makeup & hair service here so we saw a niche in the market. In addition, here you have everything: the best music, DJ’s, clubs, locations, beaches, restaurants and the spiritual energy.

Advice for young people who want to start a business: Do your research, know your market, think about your objectives, make a plan and have passion.

Corina: Visité la isla por primera vez en 1995 y supe que pasaría gran parte de mi vida aquí. ¿Cuándo y cómo surgió la idea de crear Smack?: Desarrollamos la idea después de unas vacaciones de chicas en 2008. Pensamos que podíamos llevar a Ibiza nuestra experiencia después de 10 años trabajando en Londres. ¿Qué ofrecééis a vuestros clientes?: No ofrecemos solo maquillaje y peluquería, somos un servicio personal, profesional y con experiencia. Trabajamos para servicios de moda, campañas de publicidad, en Atzaro y también para clientes particulares en barcos y villas. ¿Por qué decidisteis empezar vuestro negocio en Ibiza?: Nos dimos cuenta de que no había un verdadero servicio de maquillaje y peluquería así que vimos un nicho de mercado. Además, aquí hay de todo: la mejor música, los mejores DJ, clubs, lugares, playas, restaurantes y también energía espiritual.

Consejos para los jóvenes que quieran empezar un negocio: Investigar, conocer el mercado, pensar en los objetivos, desarrollar un plan y ponerle pasión.

El maquillaje perfecto para ir de fiesta en Ibiza: Sara: No existe el maquillaje perfecto, cualquiera que te haga sentir bien.
