Hi guys! How is going this summer, its hot wave and the testosterone? Actually, I want to talk about testosterone, this masculine hormone which generates into the testicles and causes sexual

appetite (among other several medical functions which we are not interested in). Now that it’s summer everybody has got a high-up testosterone. We lads put on short-sleeves/ sleeveless shirts, no shirts at all, super tight shirts showing up muscles or lack of muscles, bermudas, really tight swimming costumes, cool sunglasses, etc. With these ingredients, in

summer we are hungrier or maybe it’s the testosterone which is higher. Sincerely, in my ignorance I think it’s the first one. If we ride the beach at night, we see plenty of couples in the middle of something; cruising areas stuffed with preys looking for other preys; human bears looking for their puppies... I was about to mention saunas too, but I think saunas can be improvised in other places during summertime... 5 years ago someone discovered the real cause of the androgenic alopecia (also known as hair loss): the source of this sickness is a substance called DHT which derives from testosterone. So could we state that summer is bad for hair loss? Yes, absolutely. I also read that the sexual hormones’ deficit affects between 6% and 12% of men between 40 and 69 - years-old and this generates the decrease in testosterone. According to this, the popular saying “old dirty man” is not so pertinent. Well mates, I wish you a pleasant summer and hope you don’t get a neck pain while turning around in the street, you dirty people! Francisco Batista

It’s summer!

Sol.

91

the warming effect it causes on your forehead, it’s because it’s summer! Why do you ask for a damn soup?

READER

Hi everybody! If spring awakes our senses, as a famous Spanish saying goes, then how would you describe the effects of summertime? If you don’t know exactly the difference between winter and summer, you probably come from Russia. Sure you can borrow the Sesame Street special edition DVDs from your nephews to refresh your memory. However, if you unfortunately don’t have any nephew, any DVD player, no memory or you’re simply poor, here you can find some basic concepts that will help you to exactly know the season you’re living: Sun. If you’re walking down the street under a fucking sun and you’re the only one wearing a turtleneck sweater while there are lots of dudes in swimming trunks, you should visit a specialist. Beer. If you are sitting outside a bar - the word “outside” is already a clue - and ask for a soup instead of a beer, and then you begin sweating and sweating for

Bodies. If you go for a walk and on your way back home you get a neck pain or can’t stop foaming and you can’t say why there are so many hot guys, darling, it’s because it’s summer. Parties. If you’re the owner of a gay club and wonder why you don’t make money with the wardrobe service (only Guillermo’s thong is hanging while he’s in the middle of something with the DJ... then I’ve got the pleasure to announce you that it’s summer. Who’s leaving something in the wardrobe? You could put there some couches where people can hang around and get down with their business ‘cause it’s so difficult to find a good spot in summer… Now that is clear the difference between summer and winter, a new dilemma comes to my mind: if you’re in the best gay club flirting with the hottest guy, where would you get laid with him? Don’t forget it’s summer.

IBIZA BRUNO

Nombre: Bruno Reymond.

IBIZA MANOLO Name: Bruno Reymond. Age: 49. Since when are you living in Ibiza?: 1992. Why did you move to Ibiza?: I immediately felt like at home, like it was my element. I was captured by the magic of the island: its mix of natural beauty and its inhabitants and tourists tolerance. You cannot find it in other islands because there’s always a big difference between residents and visitors. So, does the island love you?: Definitely. When did your passion for design start?: Since I was young. We can say my mother transmitted it to me because she used to take me to antique dealer fairs. Do you prefer to decorate houses and turn them into a home or making exclusive and stylish places?: I enjoy decorating a house more than a commercial place because there are more possibilities in a house. I make a house for those who are going t olive there. Houses have a soul. I love to make an “ugly”, “old” and “rotten” house turn into a magical place. In a commercial place you cannot be in contact with the people who are going to go there, you can only see a commercial interest. I know you’ve got some new big projects inside and outside the island, can you explain something about them?: Of course. In Ibiza I have got some housing projects, a hotel and also some personal projects. In addition, I’m working on 2 or 3 pilot apartments for a project which is almost finished.

I have got some projects outside the island, too, since it’s very difficult to get the license to build and/or make improvements and because I’ve done a lot in Ibiza, there’s not so much to do here. Taking advantage from the success I’ve had here, now I try to make projects outside Ibiza. It’s also a way to face the present crisis and winter. So I’m starting a show room in Barcelona, which is one of the reasons why I looked for projects out of the island. In Barcelona I’ve just finished the CDLC and I’ve been working with the ex Pacha club project (which will be called OXUM) since 2 years. It will open at the end of October and it has a big restaurant and 6 suites like the ones I made in Amnesia 15 years ago. Out of the country I’m working in the Ivory Coast, designing a beach in Monaco, finishing a private hotel in Paris, a nice project in Portugal and a big luxury apartments’ project in Luxemburg.

To which countries do you usually travel?: Now I travel to follow my projects and buy things for them. I go to India, China,Thailand and Indonesia. I also go to Argentina for a Project in Punta del Este. What do like of your present and past life?: People usually complaint about their past. I can’t complain because I’ve been very lucky in the past. If something good and positive happens to you, the only thing you can

do is appreciating it and do not complaint is things change. You have to accept your present and say thank you. It’s impossible be always on the top. That’s life and we have to accept it. In this moment of crisis I want to quote an Albert Einstein’s thought: “Do not pretend that things will change if you always do the same. The crisis is the best blessing that can happen to people and countries because crisis brings progress. Creativity is born out of anguish, as the day is born of the dark night. It is during crisis that arises inventive discoveries and major strategies. Who overcomes the crisis, overcome himself without being “overcome”. Who attributes its failures to the crisis and hardship, violences his own talents and respects problems more than solutions. The real crisis is the crisis of incompetence. The problem of the people and countries, it is laziness to find the exits and solutions. There is no crisis without challenges. Without challenges life is a routine, a slow death. There is no crisis without merit. Talk of crisis is to promote it, and to quiet crisis, it’s is celebrating conformism. Let’s finish all last, with the only crisis that is threatening us, the tragedy of not fighting to overcome it. “ Which is your dream? (you already achieved or want to): My dream is to go on fulfilling all my dreams, like I always did.

94

What do you think about the gay night: I’ve never liked it. I don’t like social, racial and sexual ghettos. I love the mix which we can find in Ibiza. I know that there is “little and very special person” in your life, do you want to talk about him and how it came to you?: My son was one of my dreams I could fulfill and now my dream is that he will follow my path. I mean, I hope he will be lucky like I have been in order to fulfill all his dreams during his life. I mean spiritual and passionate dreams which are not connected with money because you do not have to be a slave to it. Money always come and go, but not your dreams. I hope my son will have the same luck I have had, and I want to teach him how to separate life from money. Happyness means feeling good inside, follow your path, have a lot of dreams, and accept your past, whatever it is. Money cannot change your personality and people have to value you on the basis of your character, not your money. Define with a word: Money: Control it without being a slave to it. Politics: I need a lot of time for this theme. I would like that politics could work for the interest of every social classes. Love: I was lucky because I’ve got the real one. Sex: Essential when balanced. It’s good! Friendship: I prefer quality than quantity. Work: You are lucky if you can turn your passion into a job!
