Dont shoot the messenger! - a commentary by nigel stonham, by dint of the fact he is in the right place at the right time, and supported by 5 and a half years learning about art and people in the company of Petronilla Hohenawarter , the internatioanl artist from Bavaria to whom I owe a huge/large amount or debt of gratitude…. ….. Welcome My name is nigel I would like to start by saying… “you cant always judge a book by its contents. “ If you see a book in Spanisch, and dont speak spanisch, you are unlikely to pass judgment on the contents, though you may well say “i do not understand what the author is saying. “ Its the same for art perhaps, just because you do not understnad the work of art or the posters here, or what message the author has, does not mean to say they are not a masterpiece in their own way. It does also not mean to say they are. But they might be. Before you could tie your showlaces, you had to learn how to do it, and then it, and life, got easier… Sometimes I find its the same with art, ( as with people ? ) , at first glance we may not understand, or misundestand. Sometimes we might miss a masterpiece, or a new friend, or even a soulmate though…. Petronillas art message was clarified by the titles, and i found the works “colourful” and grew to love them and their messages and their powerful energies Judithas art “speaks for itself” since there are words on the artwork. The art intrigues, xxx and entertains me It entertains me to read the words and to think of alternatives It inspires me to think of other words, and how they might be formed or unformed It intrigues me as to what is she saying, why these words, why this venue, why black, why the artist name she has, and more…. Those questions can be answered perhaps from within, perhaps from absorbing the art, perhaps from asking the artist. I encourage you to do all three now. Enjoy In happinesss with love for peace Nigel

I was born 1970 in Eisenstadt, raised in Burgenland and have been living in Vienna since many years now. My work as an artist has literally developed by itSELF and it is a true mirror of my every-day- life. I define myself as a „matriartist“ which means that it is primarily an energetic transformation-process that brings back into life ancient, displaced, suppressed and partly forgotten matriarchal knowledge that enriches my whole being. ------Apart from this I'd like to inform you about some thoughts that I had concerning your speech at the upcoming vernissage. Facts that I'd love to have mentioned in the text, like: I am a 'country-girl' who loves nature and deeply feels her connectedness not only to human beings but also to plants, animals and the other-world (where the ancestors reside) and therefore I am concerned about the absolutely destructive so called 'Western or modern life-style' (which is in fact patriarchal) and I feel that it is my duty to contribute to a profound radical change in our current society system; starting with myself, of course, by living a meaningful life that is devoted/dedicated to my community and the divine oneness of all that is. As there is reason for everything, there is indeed a spiritual reason why I carry the Nigerian Yoruba-name MAIYEGUN, which is an expression of the continuation of life and - with an 'A' before it, it is a praise name for the Spirit of Destiny, meaning 'The Guardian of Medicin on Earth'. My sur-name 'Judith' means 'The praised One' or simply 'Woman from Judäa' and my second Name 'Maria' -'The One from the Sea'. I take JUDITHA as my wiccan-name that has been given to me by my brother who used to call me 'Juditha from the hazel-tree' in our childhood. The importance of our names is that they symbolize our life-programm in coherence with our life's purpose. So, that's it for now - see you soon again...
Thank you very much
