Programming Domesticity Colored and mirrored glass panes dictate ones movement through the space. A distinct color signifies the path to be followed. The transition and intersection through the spaces is seamless as the glass panes light up to catch your attention and dictate paths to be taken within the apartment. Through play and movement one experiences these spaces. Like a kaleidoscope, the thin sliver of lit glass panes, changes color and material by turning into mirrors to reflect and refract light within the space. Everyday new paths emerge allowing me to move through spaces in distinct ways. The range of motion is indeterminate in this game of movement and play. Floor Plans


Space, Surface and Habitation Developing a system from nature, by observing and analyzing Ammonoids, an extinct group of marine mollusk animal. A pattern is derived and reduced to its essential order. The pattern is then used to derive a form and habitable spaces The program incorporates Gallery and lecture spaces. The building is made of Textured concrete and marble.

Incubator Symbiosis is th e living together in more or less intimate association or close union of two dissimilar organisms. Symbiosis creates an opportunity for two opposing elements to have a relationship and still remain different in its very own. The relationship between the hybrid spaces of the Bio-technology building integrates different programs that co-exist within one building. The external and internal facades are dynamic, changing to achieve sustainable goals as well as affect social spaces and interaction within those spaces.

Forensic Psychiatric Facility ‘Mini’ Urban city Sanctuary for the mentally ill. To re-engage the connection between architecture and the minds of its inhabitants through design that encourages healthy interaction without isolating the inhabitants, in a secure environment. Explore the disintegration and integration of the boundary. The physical and imaginary boundary that exists when dealing with mental health patients. In Pakistan, a facility at such a scale does not exist. Mental Asylums that exist, cannot hold the existing capacity of patients and have Insufficient and inadequate facilities or a therapeutic environment that patients require in order to heal. The Site is located at the periphery of the city of Karachi, so it is still connected to the city and its people.

Security level changes according to the floor level. Lower level has the low level security and facilities necessary for patients with low mental health risks. As a patient gets better, they are allowed to move to a less secure level with more facilities. Closer to the community till they are mentally fit to become a part of the community as well.

Through its design the module connects to the facility from its lowest level and pushes aways from the community and external environment at the higher levels, allowing patients the ideal conditions needed to get better and join the community again, when deemed mentally fit to.

LIBRARY Urban CatalystThe introduction of a new element (the catalyst) causes a reaction that modifies existing elements in the area. Interaction and isolation between private and public spaces gives the user multiple spaces to interact with. VISITOR CENTER InterconnectivityA Social Interface: where two distinct religions of Islam and Hinduism can co-exist. Context of the site is the reason why there is a need for a common space. Shrines and temples are both located near this cultural site. To explore the boundaries created within spaces, by interweaving public and private spaces to create a common space.


Habitat on Mars To design a space shuttle that would travel through space and convert into a Habitat on Mars. Conceptual, Structural, Material and Form of the spacecraft can withstand external environment of space and of mars. Conditions of space and the planet determined the overall design of the portable habitat. The retractable, compact and modular design of the spacecraft allows it to move through space and on mars, not confined to one location. Research and data can be collected throughout the surface of Mars.

Rejuvenation of Bohri Bazaar To revitalize the area of Bohri Bazaar, a site located near historical landmarks such as Empress Market. By pedestrianizng the street and diverting vehicular traffic, pockets of green spaces are woven into the urban fabric as well as outdoor seating to promote interaction between residents of the site and visitors such as shoppers.
