Impact Report 2021

Take a peek at our greatest achievements of the year

2021 - A year of connecting and reconnecting 2021 has seen IMMART gently come out into the public sphere again. We have proceeded with mindful consideration, consciousness and care and have enjoyed every minute of it - catching up with both new and old members of the IMMART Network in the cocreation of our organisation.

In this report, after sharing a little about IMMART, we expand on the work we are doing to build strong sustainable communities. We present results from our communitybuilding activities; news about our projects for that have received funding; a little about the new relationships we are nurturing in Denmark and the wider Nordic region; and finally our results within knowledge management.

About us. IMMART is an arts organisation and network. We work across disciplines and nationalities to positively impact the situation of multi-lingual artists, and artists who have moved to or are moving between countries and regions. Here are the basics: We collaborate on projects that revolve around artistic production, advocacy work and education/research. We bring people together through the IMMART Dinner, the IMMART Network (via Facebook and Instagram), and the projects we work on. Our organisation consist of a multinational Board, Advisory Board, Core Team and volunteers. We have worked with over 50 artists and cultural workers (over 30 different nationalities) and facilitated an expansion of personal and professional networks for hundreds of arts and culture stakeholders since 2016. WE ARE AT HOME WITH DIFFERENCE. https://immart.dk / @immartdk / info@immart.dk

Human rights approach. We are working on our first human rights impact assessment which pays attention to how—as an organisation—we impact ALL human rights (going above and beyond the Sustainable Development Goals). The main focus areas that we work actively with are the: Right to non-discrimination Right to enjoy just and favourable conditions of work Right to take part in cultural life Right to freedom of opinion and expression Right to freedom of thought conscience and religion

COMMUNITY We revived our beautiful social gatherings this year, holding 4 dinners and our annual end of year drinks, hosting over 60 guests and faciltiating the beginning of a no fewer than 20 new relationships.

Community spaces We are incredibly grateful to the people and establishments who invite us to host dinners in their welcoming spaces. Thank you for 2021 and we look forward to next time: Channel Vestergaard @ Little Pink Maker - https://www.littlepinkmaker.com Mikkel Andersen @ Casa De La Guitarra - https://koebenhavnsguitarskole.dk Sune Skadegaard Thorsen @ Global Art Gallery - https://www.globalcsr.net Sixten Kai Nielsen @ Human Hotel - https://www.humanhotel.com Tina Vehage Lorien @ Gallerie Lorien - https://gallerie-lorien.com

COVID-19 has impacted community buidling greatly as we place a lot of value on face-to-face encounters. 2021 was the year of reviving those meaningful encounters.

With the numbers of attendees at the gatherings reaching approx 60% of pre-corona times, this year has really confirmed the old adage that it is so much about “quality not quantity”.

Project funding #1 We received news that a project we developed together with the Danish Cultural Institute St Petersburg shall receive funding from the Nordic Council of Ministers. The project is cross national involving institutions and women multilingual and mobile artists in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Russia.
