NORTH MANKATO (March 27) – Senator Amy Klobuchar was chipper and emphatic when speaking to the press on Wednesday about her tour of the electric generator and alternator manufacturing subsidiary of NIDEC, Kato Engineering in North Mankato. Klobuchar even mentioned Russia in her remarks, referring to Russia’s recently re-elected President Vladimir Putin and his country’s constant provocations, war in Ukraine and braggadociousness about nuclear warheads. Her comments on that subject were combative in the competitive sense. For Klobuchar and NIDEC, the topic is sensitive in nature for obvious reasons but this didn’t deter Klobuchar from marketing the United States’ global military equipment capabilities in her statements. NEW ULM – Just nine miles away in the community of New Ulm, the team of four at New Ulm Cable Access Television (NUCAT) work on the studio set in the base-
ment of the New Ulm Public Library to produce the town’s first news broadcast program on cable access TV. Michael McMahon directed the first intro, signoff and segments of local, state, national and world news that aired over the weekend on NUCAT. NUCAT Production Coordinator
