The next quasquicentennial committee meeting will be on March 16 at 7 p.m. in Lafayette to work on the plan for the community’s 125-year celebration in 2025. The city made the

announcement on their website.

“The city of Lafayette is the essence of a small town community; whether across the street or across town, everyone is considered a neighbor!”

The city wants to encourage local residents to bring their thoughts and ideas. They announced that there is now a Quasquicentennial section under the Community Tab on the city’s website to help residents stay up to date on upcoming notices for the celebration. Inclement weather has prevented more work on the mini park, but the city announced that the bend shelter steel updates will be resuming, along with the addition of the ramp. The city is asking for volunteers to help in many capacities. The city will put updates on their Facebook page for residents to stay up to date as well.
