Former Cathedral High School Teacher in New Ulm Gets Probation After Smoking Weed with Students NEW ULM – A former New Ulm catholic high school teacher received probation for crimes allegedly committed while teaching there. The teacher allegedly smoked cannabis with several students on a variety of occasions at Cathedral High School, where he worked, charges stated. Brady P. Waibel, 32, of New Ulm, was charged last year in Brown County District Court with fifth-degree drug possession and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a child. The criminal complaint
showed that New Ulm police officers investigated Waibel after a tip from one of the clergy with the New Ulm Diocese. Waibel allegedly smoked a blunt that he offered to a few students while visiting a river in November 2022. The complaint said the students also smoked with Waibel other times and he always provided free cannabis on those occasions. A search of his home turned up cannabis/THC in various forms and paraphernalia. He was later arrested there.
