Pistals and Corolla
Pistals and Corolla A Modern Floral Pattern Story Utilizing Striking Metal Ornaments, Prince of Wales Houndstooth, Scattered Flowers, Stripes, a Soft Voile Sheer, and a lot of Modern Mixing of Florals with Graphic Drama in Black and White.
The Pistals and Corolla Inspiration: Jeff Leatham Jeff Leatham, the famed florist extraordinaire at The George V Hotel in Paris, started a revolution in floral arrangement that is felt the world over. He “modernized” floral arranging. Our Pistals and Corolla Print revolutionizes Floral Prints in much the same way. Leatham created choreographes bunches of blue hydrangeas, orchids and delphiniums balanced on the edge of tall vases, used sparingly for contrast, sometimes mere carnations artfully “drowned” inside vases, with huge vases reaching to the sky. As a tribute to his mastery (which was part genius/part accident, as almost all good things happen), we present edgy clustered vases of flowers that exist in nature and those that exist only in the Digital world, as they are chicly clustered by modern florists the world over. Set in the tradition of the floral pattern; we reinterpret floral patterns an a manner that any contemporary or traditional designer can fit at once into a velvet, silk and jacquard, in a medieval palazzo or modern skyscraper residence-in--the-sky or hotel lobby project. Texture, scale, inspired contemporary colors, livability, and always, a sense of humor.
