Process: I first sketched out the word “cathedral” using the typeface Gothic Script on sketchbook paper using the baseline, x height, and cap height as guides. Process: Using ten songs from Lana Del Rey, I placed the lyrics in letter-shaped text boxes, spelling out her name. I added the song title along with the year the song was released next to those textboxes. I created a simple, balanced composition with the text boxes. I showed greyscale values with the text by using different fonts, altering the leading and tracking, and changing the number of columns in a text box. I then created an abstract image using punctuation marks from the typeface Didot. Software: Adobe Illustrator

Organizing Typographic Compositions Editorial pages #1 Traditional
Process: I first created a dummy in my sketchbook and then went into InDesign and recreated the sketch. I found copyright-free articles online and used an easy to read serif font. I created parent pages and designed a running head and a folio for both pages. I then created a hierarchy by enlarging font sizes, making fonts bold, and creating a pull quote with a different color from the rest of the body text. Software: Adobe InDesign

Organizing Typographic Compositions Editorial pages #2 Contemporary
Process: I first created a dummy in my sketchbook and then went into InDesign and recreated the sketch. I found copyright-free articles online and used an easy to read serif font. I created parent pages and designed a running head and a folio. I created hierarchy by enlarging font sizes, bolding fonts, adding a kicker and drop cap, and using a pull quote. I made the brand’s name, Gentle Monster, big on the pages and added photos from their campaign. Software: Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop
