CONTE RESIDENCE Concept

Australia, known for its youthful zeal and, charming vibe is located on the Brisbane River. Many smaller rivers branch off the Brisbane River, connected by 15 major bridges. The main river goes through an urban area with population of 2.562 million.

Bridge Concept

Scoliosis spine = curving of a river The bridge is like a brace –itusedto function throughout the city. The design will interplay the use of straight and curvilinear lines, complimented by industrial materials and textures, such as wiredcable,iron,steel,andconcrete.

Placement of the kitchen, dining room and living room are designed ot take advantage of the breathtaking views. The hallways mimic the the flow of a river, contrasted by rooms with a more structured feel.

The FF + E selections support the overall design concept of a modern bridge. The furniture either has the materials, structure, flow, or function to relate to the concept. As the client has a disability, function was considered over form. The clients physically limitations, and reduced ability to bend, was an important consideration in all furniture and fixture selections.
