INTRODUCING OUR FLOORING DIVISION

The decision to open a flooring division at Nicholson was the result of increased demand from our customers asking if we could do flooring. As a growing business, we were already performing some architectural finishes and saw an opportunity to further expand our operations.

By opening a flooring division, we also increased the areas that our clients and GC’s could allocate diversification spends. The work is performed through our existing carpentry division, which utilizes local union talent across New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.

In order to facilitate the opening of this new division, Nicholson recruited the industry experience of Andrew Desandolo & Richard Horner.

In addition to our MWBE certifications, Nicholson is a certified installer for Gerflor®, Nora®, Forbo, and Altro products. We are also certified for lab and clean room installation, including seamless vinyl flooring & wall systems certified to ISO3.

Nicholson utilizes its union labor force across multiple states for flooring installation, derived from our local affiliations with:

• NYC Carpenters - Local 157/926/45

• NYS Carpenters - Local 279

• PA Carpenters - Local 158 & 164

The Nicholson approach to safety is different; for us safety is a passion, not an obligation. Our proven track record of safety compliance is founded on the principles of continuous education and rigorous risk management procedures. We employ the most qualified candidates, who consistently receive safety coaching from our dedicated Safety Department. We ensure 100% of our project managers, superintendents, and foreman have achieved or exceeded OSHA 30 certification. As we continually foster a culture of safety, we have earned EMR ratings well-below the industry average, as well as acheiving an “A” ISNetworld rating.
