July 2016 Fireworks For All Occasions July means fireworks, which most of us thrill to, no matter our age. They set the tone for a celebration. The penultimate fireworks, of course, are those that herald the Fourth of July. They provide an exciting, vivid and optimistic note as we celebrate the founding of our country. Last month, we at New Hampshire PBS had our own fireworks moment when we won two New England Emmy awards for our documentaries about the Plight of the Grassland Birds and Mt. Washington Cog Railway! We feel very honored. July is the start of the fiscal year for New Hampshire PBS. As your public television station, largely supported by individual donations from viewers like you, we need and appreciate your support to ensure that quality television is available to the entire Granite State. Because of you, our New Member Challenge was a success, and we'll receive $75,000 in challenge funds from long-time supporter and board member John Swope and an anonymous donor. We thank them for their generosity. We're in production now on a number of programs and two documentaries. I'll tell you more about them next month. Thank you for your support. Peter Frid, NHPTV President & CEO
A Note Of Gratitude
Earlier this year, we started our New Member Challenge. We are excited to announce that we exceeded our goal of 1,500 new members! This releases $75,000 in funds that we will use to continue to offer you the best of local and PBS national programs. Thanks to your support, our viewers will continue to see quality dramas and mysteries, first-rate science and nature documentaries, investigative reporting, fun and smart programs for kids on NHPTV, as well as services for parents and educators. Thank you for believing in New Hampshire PBS!
