Connections Windows to the Wild Returns Thoreau at Walden
We often think of Walden Pond as an isolated place where Henry David Thoreau lived alone -- a place where he could "live deliberately". As it turns out, Thoreau was not alone at Walden. Willem Lange hikes Walden Woods with Elise Lemire and John Kaag to hear about the other people who lived at Walden Pond and how they influenced Thoreau.

Your Donation Makes An Impact Does your donation make a difference at New Hampshire PBS? Absolutely! Take for instance, Neelam Sandhu from Bedford, NH. Starting at age six, Neelam wrote stories about magical unicorns, mischievous chipmunks and a six-legged spider and entered them into the NHPBS Writers Contest. The contest provided Neelam with a platform to showcase her creativity. According to Neelam, "Placing in the contest at such a young age made me extremely excited since it meant that I could read my stories aloud to others, and listen to stories other kids across the state had written." Neelam's mother, Surrinder Sandhu also saw the benefit of the NHPBS Writers Contest. "The contest taught Neelam that working hard at anything can help one excel in something that you are passionate about," Surrinder said. Flash forward five years and Neelam found herself on the set of NHPBS' longest running local show, Granite State Challenge. Competing with her team from Bedford high school, Neelam expressed how GSC was an incredibly fun and rewarding experience. "GSC pushed me to always be intellectually curious, since there are so many interesting things to learn about." Just think your donation to New Hampshire PBS might be fueling the intellectual curiosity of a child right here in the Granite State. What a wonderful way to encourage our next generation. Thank you so much for your support.
