BRACE FACE!!!

“Do I have to get my braces on today?” asked Will. “Yes you have to, besides you will look more handsome, Will’s mom said.

It all started one day when Will and his parents took him to see the dentist. He was only going because he had a toothache and he could not bare it anymore. The night before he could not sleep so his parents took him to see the dentist. Will was a little afraid of the dentist but as soon as he saw what the dentist gave the children after their appointment, the fear went away. The dentist gave tokens if the patients were good.

“Open wide for me,” the dentist said in a soothing voice. “Hmmm, the dentist said, I think you need braces”.

Will was in shock; he was going to look like a brace face! He thought about how everyone would make fun of him. He thought that if he wore braces he would talk and look funny. All the tools that the dentist was holding looked scary and sharp but none of them hurt. “It’s going to be okay,” said the dentist reading his mind. They did the cleaning and told Will to come back to put the braces on.

And that brings us back to today where Will was going to get braces on. Now he did not even care about getting tokens or being good because he was making a ruckus. He shouted because he could not handle the pain and squirmed.

Soon he had braces on and when the dentist showed him the mirror, he gasped because he looked so ugly.

The dentist told him he couldn’t eat popcorn or any sticky gum because that would damage the braces. If that wasn’t enough bad news, Will was going to his friend, Jack’s, birthday party and everyone knows that if there is a birthday party then there will obviously be cake.

“I can’t go to Jack’s birthday party,” whined Will who was obviously upset.

You can still go to the birthday party; you just can’t eat the cake Will’s mom replied, put off by Will’s whining.

At the birthday party all the kids were having fun including Will but when it was cake time, everyone was excited but Will dreaded this moment. Jack’s parents offered some cake to him but Will politely said, “No thank you”.

Five weeks later Will got his braces off and he was really happy because he could eat popcorn and chew gum again. This time when he looked into the mirror he saw that he was even more handsome just like his mother had said. He got 8 tokens from the dentist and 3 bonus tokens for being a ⭐patient. He also got a slime kit to go with it as a ”Congratulations for getting your braces off” gift.

Will’s birthday rolled up and he had the best time ever. Best of all he got to eat cake and this time he had no braces on!
