COMMUNITY SUPPORT

Neighborhood House has been fortunate with a consistent number of volunteers that have been the foundation of some of our programs. Our adult education services, Meals on Wheels, holiday events, food pantry, and Sunday meals all rely, some way or another, on the generous community members who donate their time and effort to making them successful. We are truly thankful to all of the hard work and dedication these volunteers have provided over the years.

This past year we saw over 25 groups help with the operations of programs at Neighborhood House. Some of the special project’s volunteers have worked on have included Santa for seniors, bagging our self-stable meals for our Meals on Wheels program, and helping our staff clean up a flood that happened in our basement. All of the work from over 240 volunteers have amounted to about 1,100 hours of service We can not express how truly grateful we are for the support we receive from our community.

As we gear up for our next fiscal year, we are excited to see what our staff and volunteers can accomplish. If you are interested in donating your time to our programs, you can contact Cara Domaszewicz at 309-674-1131 ext. 243 or email at carad@nhpeoria.org. Educate

Our Youth Programs are a crucial part of our education services. Over the spring, we offered a Spring Break Program that provided breakfast, a snack, and lunch throughout the day with fun activities and field trips through the week We capped it off with a trip to Elevate Trampoline Park where the kids had fun jumping around the facility

We are carrying the fun into the summer with our Summer Camp. For 8 weeks, children in the community will have access to all of the benefits found in our Youth Program as well as fun field trips to swimming pools and educational sites like the library and Riverfront Museum.
