I grew up in East Lyme, Connecticut and come from a long line of entrepreneurs and small business owners. My grandfather started a fishing tackle business in this area in the 1930’s --- a business still in existence today, and in its third generation. After graduating from the University of Connecticut in Finance, Business Administration, and Economics, I went to work for a major stock brokerage company. Being self-employed is part of who I am, and I suppose the independence was in my blood. A 9-5 job never suited me, but choosing which 60 hours of the week to work, did.
