She is the kind of person I hope to be when I reach that age, although I have a long way to go. Janne simply doesn't understand the word no. Her passion for the Shalom Homes project is unwavering, and nothing seems to stand in her way. After raising

the funds to build four small homes, she could easily have called it a day. Instead, she has set her sights on raising the money for many more. On Friday, surrounded by family, friends, MPP Steve Clark, and three members of North Grenville Council, Janne was presented with the Senior of the Year Award in recognition of her outstanding dedication to the community. "North Grenville is stronger because of the
seniors who call our community home," said Mayor Nancy Peckford. "Their leadership, resilience, and dedication continue to inspire us. They generously contribute so much of their time and expertise to countless community groups. Seniors Month is an opportunity to celebrate them and to reaffirm our commitment to supporting programs and services that ensure they stay active, connected, and engaged." Residents are en-
