Scott Woods returns with “Love That Fiddle”

The North Grenville Times is Locally Owned and Operated

Merrickville/ Wolford Times page 18 Renowned Canadian Fiddle Champion Scott Woods and his band present LOVE THAT FIDDLE! This uplifting live show celebrates the magic of the fiddle and simpler times with traditional country, western swing and gospel songs, heart pumping step dancing, family humour and Scott’s famous trick fiddling – somersaults and walking on a barrel while fiddling! Joining Scott onstage in LOVE THAT FIDDLE is Scott’s sister, Kendra (Woods) Norris – a multiinstrumentalist and certainly no stranger to old time fiddling, having won

the Canadian Duet Fiddle Championship title three times with her brother as well as several solo wins in various classes. Also onstage are Canadian Country Music Award Winner and Guitar Player of the Year, Steve Piticco and Upright Bass Player and Vocalist Gary Boles. Keeping the band in time and on time is drummer Wes Dymond and Patrick Linton will be lighting up the stage with his championship step dancing. Scott Woods is a twotime winner of the Canadian Open Fiddle Contest, two-time winner of the Canadian Grand Masters Fid-

dle Championship as well as Fiddle Entertainer of the Year. He is known affectionately across Canada as ‘The Flippin’ Fiddler’ and tours extensively across the country every year raising funds for churches, charities and community service organizations. To date, over $2 million dollars have been raised for these groups. Kemptville Lions have been doing these concerts for several years now, with acts ranging from a gospel group from Southern Ontario to local talent, and for the past three years, Scott Woods. The Scott Woods event is immensely popu-

lar and every year a sold out show. As always, the Kemptville Lions Club uses dollars raised from fundraising events to support local needs, as well as an international Vision Care program which focuses on bringing eyeglasses to needy recipients in 3rd world countries. Scott Woods will be performing at the North Grenville Municipal Centre, 7 pm on May 3. Tickets are available at the North Grenville Municipal Centre, Royal Lepage or by calling 613-2585739 or 613-258-2252.
