Synchronous Drum Motors Drum motor series Two series. Four shared sizes. Power & torque upgrade opportunities.

MTS drum motor

The MTS and HMTS drum motors share the same proven motor technology and performance. Our two series allow you to choose the level of hygienic performance that best matches your application. Both series are available across four drum motor sizes: 62, 82, 113, and 138.

MTS drum motor Our MTS Series is built around proven drum motor technology, the MTS features a hygienic design suitable for a wide range of food processing applications, delivering reliable performance and easy cleaning.

HMTS drum motor (NEW!) Our HMTS Series builds on the same proven motor platform as the MTS, with an advanced hygienic design engineered for the most demanding environments in food production. A closed design, robust sealing and increased mechanical robustness support effective cleaning and reliable performance, even under demanding washdown conditions.

Power & Torque Upgrades Configure performance to match your application Our drum motors are available with power (P), torque (T), and combined power & torque (PT) upgrades, enabling optimized performance for demanding applications. 

Power upgrades (P) increase power density and support reliable operation in demanding inverter-driven applications with high peak voltages.

HMTS drum motor

Torque upgrades (T) provide higher torque output, particularly at low and medium speeds and under heavy loads.

Combined power & torque upgrades (PT) enhance both electrical and mechanical performance for reliable operation under demanding conditions.

Thermal protection & material variants

Frequency converters and servo drives

Thermal protection NGI drum motors are fitted with a PT1000 thermal sensor. If necessary, we can also offer a PTC thermal sensor. The temperature sensor must be monitored by an external circuit, such as a frequency converter which switches off the

NGI drum motors are synchronous permanent magnet motors and must be operated using a frequency converter or servo drive between the mains supply and the motor.

Local expertise. Stronger solutions. Our DACH Sales Team combines local market knowledge with strong application understanding to help customers find the right drum motor solution. Close to our customers and their applications, we turn requirements into the right configuration and keep projects moving from first dialogue to final solution.

NGI drum motors

Drum Motor Shell and Surface Our drum motors are available with a wide range of shell designs to meet functional, hygienic, and application‑specific requirements. All drum shell profiles can be supplied with integrated sprockets as well as rubber lagging. Available configurations include:     

Cylindrical or crowned steel drum shells surfaces Rubber‑lagged drum shells: cylindrical, crowned, or profiled Knurled surfaces: cylindrical or crowned, for increased friction Keyed drum shell designs, available as welded keys or snap‑on keys Stainless steel profiled drum shell surfaces for specialised applications

Additional designs and special configurations are available to support specific conveyor layouts, belt types, and performance requirements. Below are selected examples.

Support That Stands Out. Our Application Engineering Team works with you to ensure the drum motor is configured for your exact machine, application, and production flow. While others only ask for specs like power and width, we dig deeper—tension, load, usage patterns—because the right setup starts with the right understanding. And we make the process easy. You’ll save time, prevent costly missteps, and get a tailored drive solution that just works.
