NTN INNOVATION ADDRESSES YOUR CHALLENGES

Urbanisation, population growth, climate change and the depletion of the Earth’s resources has led to changes in the economic and industrial fabric of society. In this context, NTN is your trusted partner when it comes to research and innovation. You can rely on our R&D Centres, our passion, our ability to listen and the expertise of our teams.

The challenges of tomorrow

NTN is motivated to solve all these issues and integrate them into the foundations of its innovative approach to the Industrial, Automotive and Aerospace markets.

For the Automotive Market, the main challenges and trends are:

• Reduction of CO² emissions and pollution

• Diversifying and improving urban transport

• Development of autonomous cars and car sharing

• Development of electric vehicles and equipment

For Industrial and Aerospace markets, the stakes are just as ambitious:

• To reduce operating costs for industrial operators (wind energy, rail, steel, mines and industrial equipment) and the exploitation of new energy sources

• Further improve the already high reliability achieved in the aerospace sector

Our innovative R&D Center

The NTN Research and Development center includes:

• our applied research and development teams work on mechanical, mechatronic, materials and process engineering

• our exclusive calculation methods (software developed from our own knowledge and finite element simulation models), studying the behavior of complex mechanical systems, thermal behavior, forging processes, crimping, heat treatment, magnetic field and more!

• our independent prototype workshop, our test center, our laboratories (metallurgy, chemistry, metrology, mechatronics) testing new products in real-life conditions

NTN also innovates in collaboration with our partners including: technical centers, universities, trade associations, technology hubs and clusters. Last, but not least, NTN R&D in Europe employs 400 people, with nearly 50 patents filed - the 28th filed with ’INPI’. 

Focus On Automotive Aftermarket

“NTN Group continues to pursue its strategy of innovation in mobility markets such as bicycles and electric and self-driving vehicles, and has aligned itself with sustainable development policies, exercising particular care in the selection of materials. NTN has focused on the aftermarket as its core strategy, which features ambitious projects, notably in line with the electrification transition and new forms of mobility that will give rise to new product ranges and services. To support decarbonization, for example, we are working to develop a line of products based on the circular economy.”

Christophe Idelon, Vice President Automotive Aftermarket NTN Europe
