In addition to romantic soulmates, are there not soul families and soul tribes? If our siblings, friends, and even business partners can aid in the expansion of our soul’s growth while serving a specific purpose in our lives, then I’m confident that our pets can too. Like my cat, Jay, who’d let me know upon meeting, that despite me originally intending to adopt a black cat with bright yellow eyes, it was this gray and white maine coon who would choose me as his mommy instead. And, I couldn’t have been happier that I walked out of the animal shelter with something other than I had planned. I trusted my own intuition the way that Jay had trusted his animal instincts and allowed the universe to bring us together. Nevertheless, Jay was the one.
After bringing him home, I went through a series of adopting more pets for one reason or another. I owned two love birds named Blue Moon and Sunshine, a Turtle named Ralphie, and three more cats – though not all at once. What each pet taught me, whether it was a cat leaping on top of the counter or a bird freely flapping its wings down the hallway, is this: There is divinity flowing through their emotions. They hunger, thirst, tire, and search for excitement within their environment. Not much different from human We too are all influenced by how much positive or negative stimuli surrounds us. Whether man, woman, creature or plant, we all lean towards the sunshine of others to feel nurtured, loved, seen, and valued. Isolation is mere death for any living organism which makes us dependable on one another, like a pet to a parent, and a parent to a pet – so long as we don’t abuse our own power on the food chain.

Perhaps then, all is not lost with the Ancient Egyptian crystalized mentality; knowing why animals should not be reduced to just an accessory providing comfort for the human family but are in fact, a vital life force cosmically fueling the circle of life as one complete creation. Gods, Goddesses, or Deities; whatever status one might give them, we can’t deny the power of what their sacrifice means to our lives, and why that act is worthy of royalty – and our devoted love for our furry friends.
