AND
Ascension periods are hard. They are messy and force us to unravel the parts of ourselves that we’ve kept locked away… or the parts that we were afraid to let go of. Spiritual ascensions are certainly not the most glamorous seasons of our life, in fact, it’s probably one of the most mentally challenging times because it purges EVERYTHING out of us –especially the parts that are not serving us.
For anyone who is wondering, “What the heck is an ascension?” – well, it’s a spiritual awakening. People usually experience various ascension periods in their life and they can all look different. It can feel exhausting. Overwhelming. But these seasons will teach you grit, and you’ll emerge as a higher you. Be aware - however, you’re more than likely to hit some mental lows and it’s totally normal, even though you don’t feel normal at all. This process is the shedding of the old for something new and expansive; an inner evolution as you transcend old limiting beliefs, mindsets, relationships etc. to birth a new version of you. It usually comes with HUGE shifts and what the spiritual community refers to as even experiencing, “The Dark Night of the Soul” -- meaning you might experience a lot of things crumbling or towering moments and you may even feel disconnected from everything you once knew, because everything is changing and re-wiring inside of you.

For me personally, I’ve discovered that these hardcore periods of change were placed in my life as seasons of moving the ball and catalyzing my deep manifestations into reality. But in order for the new to come into existence, and for expansion to happen, I needed to remove everything in my life that was no longer in alignment with my dharma and highest good. If I didn’t take the initiative to remove what didn’t feel authentic to me, life would do it for me –and the transition would feel even more intense and painful. In ascensions, things move fast. Everything literally becomes a ripple effect. God/ the Universe
/ higher power knows that you are ready to level up and will move mountains to help you get there. However, though our spiritual team and Source is always there – you (yes, you!) are essentially the captain of this ship… our spirit team is much like the wind helping to guide the ship in a wild storm to reach an island of abundance.
I’ve had two notable ascensions in my life thus far. They’ve propelled me to go inward into the depths of my soul where I’ve truly sat with myself and unraveled my own layers. These seasons of change, transition and evolution which often feel unbearable have helped me deepen the connection to myself and become my own healer. Of course, you can still receive energy and healing work from other healers, but by going inwards I found my own divine light. This light might waver sometimes, but it NEVER goes out. I can remember being twenty-two years old during my first real spiritual awakening and feeling my heart beat against my palm for the very first time or confronting my heavy anxiety for the first time after a breakup and being able to express what my heart was really feeling, versus keeping it all in, as the old me would’ve done. Ascensions push us to the best version of ourselves. But it comes with letting go of the old, and if you resist it, life will do it for you and it’ll usually unravel more intensely.
There is no one-size fits all approach to navigate an ascension, however the tips listed below might help you the next time you think you might be experiencing a big transition or shift. These practices have helped me to bring new layers of healing to mind, body, and soul and I have been able to find solace through some of the most turbulent times as well as soak in some of the most precious, fulfilling moments of my life. I hope these practices help to guide you home to your truest, most powerful self, where you can feel present, alive and at ease – with confidence and trust in where you are and where you’re going.
•Find a nice, quiet + comfortable place to sit.
•Close your eyes.
•Feel the surface beneath you and let the earth carry you.
•Begin to surrender to the now as you gently turn your gaze inwards.
•Take 6-8 deep, calming breaths – maybe try the 4-4-4 method or my favorite the 4-7-8 technique.

•Place your hand over your heart and feel your heartbeat. Bring awareness to your heart space. Let your heart openly and vulnerably speak to you. Trust in yourself and know that your heart innately knows the way.
•Honor any feelings or thoughts that might come up.
•When you feel ready you can begin to bring movement back to your hands, feet and gently nod your head. You can flutter your eyes back open.
SELF CHECK-IN: SELF CHECK
Grab a journal + pen after you’re down with the above and ask yourself the questions below. Write as elaborately and expressively as you like:
•How am I feeling right now?
