Another fantastic year of COVIDsafe risk-taking art is here as Edmonton’s emerging arts festival returns to its online stage. Nextfest has always been about pushing the boundaries. As we usher in the 26th year of our festival, we’re excited to keep creating and supporting the next generation of artists through digital means.

Since our festival is now online, you get to see everything for free - EVERY. SINGLE. THING. That means that in the first week of June, something new and exciting is just a click away. Nextfest 2021 has more than 400 artists and 90+ different events, performances, showcases, and parties - you never know what will make you say “wow!”

GET EXPERIMENTAL

What is more experimental than creating art online? Nextfest 2021 has been programmed for online viewing by a group of curators who believe in creating opportunities for emerging artists to experiment, grow, and produce art without censorship. Embracing the experimental with us means you will see work that moves you in unexpected ways. It also means you might see work that includes adult content, sexuality, and strong language.

So put on your comfiest PJs (or your Sunday best), grab a beverage, and settle in for a night (or eleven nights) of experimental fun.
