Project Summary NEXT Distro is seeking a web development entity to develop and launch a web application to better serve its service population.

Executive Summary NEXT Distro is seeking a web development entity to develop and launch a web application to better serve its service population.

This application will be for: ● NEXT Distro users, super users, and admins ● Affiliate programs with user and superuser access specific to their state ● Program participants (front end only) The goal is to combine the full functions of NEXT’s digital operations into a more streamlined, secure, and efficient enrollment, ordering, and participant management flow.

Technology system is segmented by affiliated programs, each affiliated program has their own transaction log, order form, client records list; System admin is able to aggregate all affiliate data.

Various dashboards that functions both for the overall organization and specific affiliates including the ability see transaction logs, to do crosstabs, generate charts, make targets, and data manipulation capabilities Proposals should itemize separately at least application work, any server hosting/migration work, and encryption/security features. Further breakdowns are encouraged but not required.

The RFP deadline is October 7th. The target kickoff date is October 15th. Vendors will be contacted by the end of the month. Target project launch date is December 31st.

NEXT Distro is an online and mail-based harm reduction service designed to reduce opioid overdose death, prevent injection-related disease transmission, and improve the lives of people who use drugs. NEXT Distro “NEXT” was the nation’s first online and mail-based harm reduction program. Since 2018, we have provided mail-based support to people who inject drugs that cannot access harm reduction services in-person due to their lack of proximity to a pre-existing syringe service program (SSP). As a harm reduction program, NEXT’s national vision is unique.

We are ourselves an SSP in New York State and have also designed/implemented a replicable model to support national expansion of online and mail-based harm reduction through a hub and spoke ‘affiliate’ model. This means we leverage our website, technology, and experience to benefit other SSPs interested in or engaging in mail-based distribution. NEXT currently has 5 SSP affiliate programs and 32 naloxone affiliate programs. NEXT is an acronym for Needle EXchange Technology.
