Overview
NEXTDistro“NEXT”isanonlineandmail-basedharmreductionprogramworkingtoprovideresourcestopeople whousedrugsthatcannotaccessin-personservices NEXTreceivesdruguserhealthsupplyandsupportrequestsfrom acrossthecountry,includinginstateswherewedonotformallyoperate NEXTwillbehiringaResourceNavigatorto provideassistancetoindividualswhoneedsupportwithreferrals,supportivecounseling,druguserhealtheducation suchassaferinjectiontrainingandsafetyplanning,andrelatedservices Thispositionwillberesponsibleforproviding supportlettersinsupplypackages Ouridealcandidatewillhaveexperienceinharmreductionservicesanddruguser healtheducationnuancesandtechniques.Thisisadynamicpositionthatwillsupporttheincreaseddruguserhealth educationandsupportavailabletoruralandremotecommunities.Itwillrequireamotivatedindividualwhoisinternet savvyandhaslivedand/orprofessionalexperienceinnavigatingsocialservicesystemsasapersonwhousesdrugs.
Responsibilities
● RespondtoparticipantrequestsforsupportthatcomeintoNEXTthroughouronlineorderform byresearchingrelevantinformation,developingaparticipant-specificresponsewithresources, anddoingsoinatimelymannersotheresourcedresponseisabletobeincludedwiththe participants’supplypackage Initiatecontactwithparticipantswhooptintosupportservicesvia text,calland/orphone
● Followupwithparticipantstosupporttheirutilizationofsupportiveresourcesand/ortoprovide additionalsupport Thismayincludeareassuchassaferinjectioneducation,assistanceobtaining identification,travelassistancesupport,advocacy,andsupportivecounseling
● Providesaferinjection,woundcare,safersex,andotherharmreductioneducationusingemail, text,andphone-basedcommunication
● Completetimelydocumentationofservicesprovidedtoparticipantsandotherprogramactivities; PreparequalitativeandquantitativeprogramreportingforNEXTleadershipandexternal stakeholders.
● Aspartofateam,developculturallyinformedmaterialsandcampaignsspecifictoparticipant needswithafocusondruguserhealthandwellbeing.
● MonitorNEXTphonelinesduringgeneralhours;numbersarecontactedbyprogramparticipants andcommunitystakeholders,thismayincludeupdatingaddresses,confirmingorderrequests,and providingsupportivecounselingorcrisisservices.
● Aspartofateam,keepapprisedofpublichealthdatarelatedtodruguserhealthneeds,develop strategiestoaddressemergingandlocation-specifichealthemergencies.Examplesinclude overdosespikesandincreasesinHCV/HIVtransmission
● Otherdutiesasassigned
Requirements
● Experienceworkingincasemanagement,outreach,communitymobilizing,oradjacentparticipantcentered servicesforaminimumof2years Experiencingworkinginharmreductionisastrongplus
● Musthavestronginternetsearchingandfact-findingskills,abilitytoproblemsolvewheninformationisnot closeathand.
● Proventrackrecordofworkingwithpurposeandintegrity.
● CompetencyinsupportingtheintersectionalandevolvingidentitiesofNEXTparticipants.
● Reliableandtrustworthy,abilitytoeffectivelycommunicateverballyandthroughphone,email,chat,and video.
